I have no doubt that he is a great guy. Just stick to the facts and report even if it means after the fact.

Let the School and the coaches recruit. If you do not know where the leak came from and you did not do it by all means do not offer any suggestions. IE "Must have been the staff"

Our Coaching staff and BB need to trust one another and if BB does not think he can trust them on this then he might question other aspects of his recruitment by the school and staff.

If you have no part of the process do the interview report the facts and do not speculate or comment based on private personal conversations. Pretty simple.

Going around and stating "I got his number and I will call him" is not your job. Stick to what is, which is "not" recruiting or it is just breaking the news as it happens. If you confirm a rumor then you are in essence telling a fact. A good media person knows this. You are not big enough to take on the responibiltity of newscaster, yet.

If BB was angry with you, it was probably for a good reason because you a few others knew of the visit. So you offered up the Coaching Staff as a leak.

I haven't recruited, at all. I have been objective with Bryce since after our first interview with him.

I'm not in any position. He knows I didn't lead anything. He knows where it came from. I've knows things for weeks and not repeated them.

Again, I didn't leak anything. I'm not sure how not being the one to start this is self promoting. I went out of my way to try and have it taken down.

BB is not now and was never angry at me. I have been upfront and honest about all my dealings with anyone and have tried to act professionally. The young man wanted me to put on a special show tonight so he could come on it, so no, he isn't mad at me at all. If anything, I calmed him down by clearing up where the leak came from. If anything, you can thank me for not allowing him to assume the leak came from the UT staff, b/c that was his first thought.

All I've tried to do was report what I know when it was appropriate to report it. I feel I've done it responsibly and within the rules.

For the last time, I didn't offer the staff. I saved the staff. He was mad at the staff when he called me, and when he hung up, he wasn't.

I was a frequenter of this thread before i went on vacation last Friday. After trying to follow up on the last few pages, i am close to giving up.

VSPN, no offense, but what is your connection to the situation? I'm not doubting anything you're saying but am just curious.

1. I'm not related to VSPN, I just oppose ignorant posting as a matter of principle.

2. Learn how to compose a sentence. Until then, I'll assume you meant that VSPN "isn't" doing any relevant reporting. Which is ridiculous, since all of his comments in this thread have been about Bryce Brown's recruitment. Isn't that what this thread is supposed to be about?

3. VSPN hasn't put himself into the recruiting process of BB any more than any other reporter or news entity. He certainly hasn't been attempting (based on the posts I've read) to make money off of BBs recruitment, ie Butler. You've provided no evidence that any statements VSPN made were anything other than objective. He told us what he knew when he was allowed; when he wasn't allowed, he didn't tell us.

4. He didn't confirm the rumor until after Hubbs reported it. Ergo, he wasn't out for a scoop, as you claimed earlier.

5. I'll grant you, I take VSPN's word for it when he says that Brown was angry at the football office, and not him. Do you have any evidence that Brown was angry at VSPN? Lay it out for me, by all means. Until then, I WILL take VSPN's word for it, based on his past history of professional conduct.

i dont really want to jump in your guys fight, but i have read everything he has posted and he has just shared what he knows, with BBs interest in mind. he said he has never tried to influence BBs decision. ill take first hand info all day.

I'm glad you asked. I'll answer you, and clear this up once and for all.

I was sent Bryce's number around signing day and told he was interested in doing my show. He did it, enjoyed it, and we had a good conversation. Recently, he updated me on his status and committed to doing my show after he signs.

The only connection that I have at all is that I seem to be one of the few media people that Bryce will talk to. I haven't judged him, I haven't tried to persuade him of anything, I haven't asked dumb questions. I treat him with respect so he seems to be open to talking to me.

He has told me things I have not repeated, even though I would have been "scooping" people to do it. I could have said things on my show that would have greatly increased my status, but didn't out of respect for him.

Now, my connection is that as soon as he heard this was out, he called me. He wanted to know where it came from and I told him. It was limited to that. Nothing more.

I don't know him personally, I am simply a member of the "media" that he seems to prefer.

A Vol Hostess leaked the news. Probably the same one who was in the FB pic with him.

He's coming this weekend, but back off the dude for everyone's (especially his) sake.
