I've seen videos on this kid, and I'm totally willing to give him a try. He might even be worth a little bit of a headache over his Kelly Washington-isms.

He is nothing like kelley Washingotn...better athlete, better student, better individual. This kid has a great head on his shoulders...i can attest to that.

You know for all the bad mouthing and bitching going on about BB's decision delay, nobody has stopped to think that we wouldn't have had a shot at the guy if he had made his decision on signing day.

Tennessee fans should thank their higher power for his diligence in the matter.

One more thing to keep in mind. If there was anything "below the board" with BB or his "handler" the UT compliance office would be all over it. With all the tension between the new staff and the compliance people, I'm led to believe that this is all good.

Two questions about BB. Without CLK did we have any shot at all with him, and have we ever signed anyone who was such a consensus no. 1 player. I know Manning was no. 1, but some people had Booty no.1

I think the idea of a consensus #1 pick is relatively new with the advent of recruiting services. BB would be the first to my knoweledge. Granted I'm not really a recruiting guy.

From LSU's board...
A guy that saw Brown supposedly spit out some chewing gum on the sidewalk today picked up the gum and examined it. It was orange!

There is a little confusion whether or not the gum actually belonged to Brown or one of the members of his entourage. He is going to try and find out for sure.

Personally, I don't want a guy who crudely spits out gum on a sidewalk...speaks to a lack of character. I don't care if he is the top overall player in the country. We're building something more important here. Also, we have Seastrunk coming next year.

nothing (rumor, smoke, etc) in our favor at this point that signals he may actually pick us

Okay, so UT gets the kid from Okie land. Good. That tells UT has lost in the BB race. Now, it is basically between Oregon and us.

Good. The NCAA can save time and manpower that way. They can investigate Kiffen for all of his violations and Brown / Butler at the same time.

I think Les and company basically lost interest during his visit. His tude didn't going over real well here.

About the only satisfaction I would get out of BB going to LSU or Miami is knowing that Wheaton wasted all his time trolling the wrong board. :)

If he goes to Oregon, my satisfaction will be that we wouldn't have to worry about his influence on the NC as a RB for another team. Even BB can't undo 100 years of failure.

Bryce Brown will be a Vol! It's really what's best for him and the sport.

I'm glad spring practice has finally started--and appreciate the off season entertainment that has been a busy recruiting season. Next year, recruiting season will one of the most fun things we'll get to do as Vols fans.

Either way this one goes, you've got to salute Kiffin and Company for what they've accomplished with only three months on the trail.

Do we want a selfish player that comes out of games once he has attained a certain amount of yards because his "handler" told him to? Sure why not.:bad:

No one knows that he is a "selfish" player. All we have that really points that way is a bunch of internet chatter from fans frustrated that he didn't choose their team already.

I'm not one to give the "benefit of the doubt" too quickly but if this kid were poision I think CLK would have already pulled the plug.

Why do we want him though? Maybe because he's a college ready RB who at 6' 215 supposedly has Coker-like speed and acceleration.

I still cant understand why everyone wants this guy so bad, he is going to be bringing a lot of baggage. Hell, he already has an "agent"

Would you want Eric Berry if he had come from a school at which he didn't have a good relationship with his HS coach, reached out for help from someone who had helped his older brother, but then realized that guy may not have been the best option as the process unfolded?

No we didn't have a shot with him. We had Oku and Giles when Fulmer was still here. Not only did Fulmer's dismissal help us with him, but the biggest help came from Miami getting rid of Nix. Add that to the speculation of his brother not being happy down there and BB started to look around again. Just so happens that as he is reopening his recruitment, our staff was basically starting theirs so the two were basically on the same page. Can't blame him for taking extra time. Losing the OC that recruited him to Miami threw a major curve ball at BB that caused him to back up and look at things closer. It's a major decision in his life, how can you blame the kid for wanting to know every detail about the school he's going to go to.

I could tell by how you said it that you meant it in that way. I just meant anyone saying that sort of thing in general about a school like Tennessee. Even if it is a coach. That's just bold. Send him to Vanderbilt and sure, it'd make sense, but we haven't dropped that far off of the talent map is my point.

Hardesty is injury prone and average. Creer hasn't done anything but a few good runs against weak teams. Crompton speaks for himself. Coleman is unproven. G. Jones has been decent but nothing special.

If BB comes to UT he has every chance to be our best player on offense next year.
