I don’t think he struggled to create space at all, he was able to create more assists than anyone else on our team which usually means you’re getting some space or passing your defender…most of his looks were wide open, I’m not really sure we watched the same game.
Because you disagree with my opinion, my ideas are preconceived and not actually based on evidence? I respect your opinions, but I don’t knock others who’s opinions are different from mine. Sometimes the need of some to be the expert of VolNation is amusing.Yeah as I read thru this dialogue I am not sure he watched the same game. In fact, it seems an awful lot like his observations are preconceived and not actually based on evidence. Lots of fans have pent up frustration due to what they saw from him when he was thrown into a very challenging situation as a freshman. He is absolutely a player that can be a starter on a championship caliber team and he will make good money and have a long career playing professionally overseas.
Can I agree with you on this post but also agree with therickbol in that I don’t see the same negative takes on Vescovi? Not really sure what you were stating concerning Vescovi were only opinions. Personally I think has has continued to mature physically along with improving his skill sets the last couple years. He appears to be of average speed to me, not slow. One thing that’s not an opinion but is fact is that CRB thinks pretty highly of Vescovi as demonstrated in CRB’s interviews along with the significant playing time he continues to receive.Because you disagree with my opinion, my ideas are preconceived and not actually based on evidence? I agree with everything you said. My only observation on Vescovi is that he doesn’t have SEC-level quickness, in my opinion. He plays hard, plays good D, and has strengthened his body. He’s a good teammate, a relatively good 3-point shooter, and looks for his teammates offensively. I think his quickness might limit some of the things he can do, but a solid player overall. Can I agree with you on this post but also agree with therickbol in that I don’t see the same negative takes on Vescovi? I didn’t say it specifically before, but I believe he’s of average SEC combo speed. Not impressively quick but not slow on an SEC scale. JMOI agree with everything you said. It's as if people don't think 2-guards can create or handle the ball. They're not only out there to shoot or slash. They're every bit the playmaker the PG is except they don't dribble the ball up or initiate the offense. Pretty much the only differences on the offensive side of the court.Vescovi hate is one of the most puzzling things to me. He’s much better suited to run the SG spot than PG. It’s not like he was terrible at PG either. He had a solid game Saturday and I expect he will only get better and more comfortable at that off guard spot.
Hard to lose one of best defensive players in decades and not decline. Could be better out front though. Rim protectors trump disruptive perimeter guys.
