Our defense is elite to the point that we are consistently able to survive these droughts and win 25 plus games a year. I can't be the only fan asking what if these drought weren't so frequent?
If we scored 90 but had 2 five minute spans that we scored 4 points in each would you be just as upset?

Are the droughts not overcome by scoring outbursts, though? It's a 40-minute game. We scored 80 points, and even if we can admit that we struggled for a couple stretches totaling 14 minutes where we only scored 14 points, then we also have to feel good about the fact that we scored 66 points in the other 26 minutes.

I'm not sure I've seen anyone claiming we were elite offensively in game 1, yet that seems to be the idea that you're trying to counter.

I get it, we’ve wanted better offense for a couple years and it is what has hurt us often times in March. My thing is you just seem to be lumping together last year and suggesting it’s the same thing without digging any deeper. How many times did we score 80+ last year that Vescovi didn’t hit a 3? Idk the answer but I’m guessing zero. I don’t think it’s fairly common to see a team that never has 2-3 minute scoring droughts, that’s pretty common in todays game, the key is not having a whole bunch of them. Our guard heavy lineups/3 ball heavy will also likely play into that, we very well may miss 4-5 in a row, again that’s quite common, but we also will hit 4-5 in a row too, that’s analytically sound basketball in todays game.

Like I said, it was a low possession game, it exceeded projections offensively based on analytics and Vegas numbers, and that’s with Vescovi not hitting a 3 which has been our whole offense in recent years, to me that’s a reason to be excited.
I don't disagree with this. One game is not gonna tell us much. We did see glimpses of last year but we also saw glimpses of better offensive talent. We do have a bunch of posters who just pretend that our offensive problems have not been happening in recent years. That's as silly as a rival fan pretending we don't have a great defense.
