Bubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble...

We really seized the opportunity at Florida.

acting like he and the staff can teach the team to attack a press or zone is comedy. Almost 3 yrs in and still missing basic basketball plays and fundamentals.

Haha our guards need to work on how to handle press because it's a huge advantage if we do because the opposing team is not set on defense while in the press.

We make it harder than it has to be tho. If we grabbed the ball out of the net and took off it would help keep the other team from getting set up. If we constantly run a man to the middle, their is a little something called a give and go that would help mask Barton's lack of ball handling. These are things taught in middle school and mastered in college. We are still in a remedial class waiting on 101.

give and go? How many have you seen in 2+ years? Maybe 10? @ the same number of successful pick and rolls.
These are more of the many reasons we are where we are offensively. Mindboggling, really. At this level, with coaches that supposedly have great knowledge and experience, we can't make basic basketball plays.

Man, what I wouldn't give to have Rick Byrd the last 3 years coaching these slashers and the way he runs his team. I promise you we would get good looks and lanes, more open shots, we would have a pg by now and at least one spot up shooter for kickouts.
We would also not be on the bubble and would've made it last year.

That glimmer of hope is so much bigger than that sliver you're holding on to thinking Bruce is coming back.

My glimmer of hope is that you'll leave when your father is fired.

I'm convinced that you care more about Martin than the Vols.

BTO's okay. He just has a hypothetical mind.
Also the eternal optimist. Nothing wrong with that.
Keep that in mind, before trashing.

It really is frustrating to watch. And it wouldn't be so bad if the potential had never shown. But their are games (LSU UVA) we push the tempo, move WITHOUT the ball, set quality screens and look like a functioning team. The UT's and UNC's this year leave me wondering if its parity in bball or Schizophrenia. lol

I opt for Schizo.

And CM with another answer that rubs me wrong. Basically, when questioned about Jrich and Barton struggling offensively, he basically said they just need to find the time outside of practice to get in the gym.
Basically, the coaches are doing their job. It's up to the players to spend the time outside of practice. The latter is correct. The former is now predictable. Nothing is wrong. They just need to hit shots. Offense is fine. Gameplan is fine. They just need to practice more on their own.

UT BB has taken on the persona of their coach.

Totally agree with your take on this.

A winning coach with any leadership at all would make sure his guys were in the gym outside of practice getting shots up!

What he's trying to say in a nice way is that he and he is staff are ineffective teachers so if the players would get together without the coaches then they have a better chance of working things out.
