I'm new to the board and just wanted to make my first statement like that........however I did think about asking you guys WHO DO YA THINK WILL START AT QUARTERBACK THIS YEAR?!?!?! LOL! Complete joke....I'm a lifetime VOL.....even though I live in KY and go to UK. No need to fear however. Right now I'm sitting three computers down from UK QB Andre Woodson, and Im still counting 3 power T's on my clothes....and I dont care who likes it.....hopefully I can FINALLY meet some people that I can have REAL football conversations with...not "Wait til basketball season" convos.

Glad to be on board....now how can i put up a cool lil pic under my name? Or do I hafta earn that by posting? :peace2:

Hell man.....i'm as sick of hearing about it as everyone else. One topic needs to be discussed...O-Line...O-Line.....O-Line......if we are gunna be dancin with orange roses in Jan......thats where it ALL starts.....regardless of who sportscenter talks about. IMO of course.....but as a quaterback...i know from experience that we MUST have a solid unit up front on BOTH sides of the ball. My dog (whos name is Tinsley, an Akita) could prolly put up pretty good numbers with our recievers. There are MUCH MUCH bigger issues than qb. Too many people worry about it.

Welcome the the Nation. I am really worried about our OL. Most people are saying that it is only spring and people will be better by fall. At the rate we are going, we will be lucky to have 1 healthy center.

The latest player to start at center was Michael Frogg....I don't even know who that is. My guess would be that he is a walk-on. I know that having a freshman center could be rough, but I would rather have a freshman like McNeil get the start over a walk-on...

agreed on the topic of mcneil. I have NO clue of who the other guy is. I know EVERYBODY ON THE ROSTER and still have no clue of who that is. I think the coaches wanna get as many people as they can inVOLved to see what happens, and to give experience to the youngers players/walk ons. Never know when we might need them....SEE 2002 Season.......but i completely agree about mcneil. I'd say he'll be our starter when UAB comes to town. I've watched him play in 6 games...and YES...i know its high school.....but the guy fits the part. Damn shame about Gandy. He coulda been good, but hey....you can't blame the guy for playing a pick-up game of b-ball. like me....he is a KID.....and beyond alot of beliefs in college sports, these kids actually have lives other than just our enjoyment on saturday afternoons. they wanna play pick up games with their friends and such and nobody....NOBODY..... can hold anyone responsible AT ALL in the football program (players and/or coaches) for the injury. It was just bad luck. Yes, it does hurt us.....but no...it doesnt kill us. Remember the WR situation in '03? Guess we all saw how that came out. I'm sure the orange magic will help us out come September. :cross:

The Oline needs continuity of reps with a consistent group.

The fact that the staff is still looking for the right combination to take snaps with the first unit is slowing that progress. Look for the Oline to step it up early in the fall. I do believe the coaches will have a good idea who their front 5 will be by then and the more that unit gets to work together the better they'll be. There is some great talent there. Gandy's injury really hurt us this spring. With him anchoring the line it would be much farther ahead. With him out, they're having to experiment much more than they would have with him in.

I'm not ready to panic though. I think the Oline will be one of our best in years if we can get some good play from our 2-deeps.

Oh yeah! Welcome to the board!

Welcome aboard, Brother. I too am concerned about our injuries to the O-Line, but at the same time, I am by no means hitting the panic button. I think things will work themselves out by September 3rd. Again welcome. We are glad to have you. Oh by the way, tell Andre our "Orange Crush" defense will be all over him like a cheap 3 piece suit come November 26th!

Welcome to the boards from Razorback country. :D I lived in Louisville and went to Durette High school. I have a bunch of relatives living in Lexington. I always cheer for UK as long as they are not playing us. Just remember to pay homage to LIO at least once a week and you will be fine.

Welcome from a Newbie. I have lurked about here for some time myself. I had to sign up to ask Old Vol about his Avatar.

Are you one of the Guys in that picture by any chance? If so, you are my cousin.

Cover of Sports Illustrated October 1967. A fine game against Alabama. Another fine game on National TV in 68. Helped Knock Bama out of National Title contention both years.

As regard the thread, I find it really annoying to read the same topic every few days. Shaeffer will transfer/He's the best QB/Ainge is the only way.

None of us are the one who gets to decide.

I know what its like to be a stranger in a strange land. Man let me tell you what, that Shellacking the Vols put on A&M finally got the Clemson fans around here to shut up. We nearly beat the Aggies by more points than both teams scored combined when the Aggies whupped the Tugers early in the Season. A&M is coming here this year, I may have to buy some Maroon and go.

maybe frogg is a walk-on.  :dunno:  that would be my only explanation.

Either that or he is literally the waterboy.... :dunno:

Oh and :welcome: to the board ClemsonVol!!
