Budweiser likely done with Jr, looking at Kahne

wow kkep I was just about to post this, glad I checked back once more

Budweiser to Evernham? hearing that Budweiser could sponsor one of the Evernham Motorsports teams in 2008, leaving DEI and Dale Earnhardt Jr. it could be the sponsor for Kasey Kahne if Dodge lets him out of their sponsor deal of the #9 and if Bud feels Kahne meets their demographics, or even #19-Elliott Sadler team. Supposedly DEI could still be in play for the Bud sponsor, but looks like Bud will not follow Dale Earnhardt Jr. to Hendrick Motorsports and that Pepsi/Mountain Dew will sponsor Dale Jr. in 2008.(7-10-2007)

:eek:lol:

Kahne wouldn't know what to do if he couldn't lead off every interview with, "Well the UAW Dodge Dealers Dodge Charger UAW Avenger built by the Dodge Dealers..."

I'm not sure what their demographics are, but it seems Elliott Sadler would meet them better than Kasey Kahne would.

They must not be too worried about the only demographic that matters, money, if they don't want to hang with the Earnhardt name.

Sadler strikes me as a guy who you could go fishing and drink Budweisers with. Kahne, not so much.

too bad those teams suck this year though.

in the past couple of years, i'd agree.

however, winning at Bristol in a Wood Brothers car was pretty impressive.

Yeah, that was impressive, but other than that not so much. But he seems like a great guy so I wish him the best of luck.

Sadler had his shot when he was with Yates in that 38 car that ran so good on the 1.5-mile tracks. He hasn't done anything since.

yeah Sadler does seem like a cool guy that would hang out and drink a beer, but Jrs shoes are gonna be hard to fill (esp commercials and advertisements)

No one doubts that, but the decline in merchandising and collectibles between Jr. and anyone else that they're said to be linked to possibly sponsoring would be quite substantial.

They're not going to be hurting for money either way, but one would figure they'd go the route that would bring them the most money.

as if Budweiser is struggling to sell product.

yeah thats definitely what I was tryin to say

Im just sayin Bud better find someone capable of winnin some races unless they want to be known as "the guy drivin Jrs old car"
