There's not many examples of QBs that tall being good. For whatever reason getting to 6'6 or 6'7 seems to make it harder to throw accurately. May not have anything to do with it but I can't think of any truly successful QBs that tall.

Tyler Bray can sling them beer bottles pretty accurately. :)

I watched him in his bowl game and he has tremendous arm strength. At this point his accuracy down the field really needs a lot of work.

He doesn't throw a particularly pretty ball, but he can chuck it down the field quite a distance.
Looks to be highly mobile and fleet of foot for a big man, along with some power runs.

6-6 in 4" platform shoes! Man he seems a lot more like 6-2. But that is what they list him as. Weird.
Ha not sure why you think that. He's been the tallest starting QB in the league most of his career. I think the only times he wasn't were the few games brock started.

12 picks in the mac is worth about 20 in the sec. Accuracy kind of important playing day 1 CBs week in and week out. passss

I'm quite happy with JG in the quarterback role. He's a clear leader, steady in the pocket, and does make some nice throws. I wouldn't mind seeing him run a bit more however. Next year, it will be great having his experience.

Completed % 63.0 of his passes.
Had a Td:Int ratio of 4:1... In other words had he threw 36 tds...he only would have thrown 9 ints.
Stats don't lie baby!

There's a good statistical explanation for this.

In spite of us seeing a lot of 6'6"+ athletes in professional sports, there aren't actually a whole lot of men in the 20 - 40 age range that are over 6'6". QB is a highly skilled position, as well, so the odds of finding a "highly skilled" QB at 6'7" are much lower than 6'1" or 6'3".

If you want a crazy height stat, something like 25% of "early adult" males over 7' in the US are in the NBA. 6'7" is more common than 7'0", but it's still pretty rare to see someone that tall in the general population. Which is the most likely reason you don't see a lot of 6'6"+ NFL QBs. Though, there's probably also something to the fact that few defenders are over 6'7" either, so the "field visibility" advantage of being 6'9" is probably not much greater than the one from being 6'5".

Trevor Lawrence says hello at 6'6".
He's still an outlier. As far as I can tell the most successful QB at 6'6 or taller is Joe Flacco. And I can't think of any that are taller have lasting success at the NFL level. Maybe Lawrence will be the most successful at that height when he's done, but it's also hard to trust listed heights until they hit the combine.

No. No. No. JG is the man this next season. Why bring in a QB with a 55% completion level. The only reason to bring someone like him in would be to push JG. If JG can learn to read defenses and get some protection, he could be a top SEC QB.

Here again, in response to this "can he learn". If he hasn't by know, don't think he will or maybe just can't...
