It’s emotions…it’s testosterone…it’s baseball…and it’s Beautiful! These are normal occurrences in baseball, they just showed you a little behind the curtain! Enjoy!
I was thinking about the same as you.
A 20 year old kid, jacked up from possibly the biggest moment he’s been a part of in his young baseball career.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Although I have to admit, I noticed it in real time and when I watched the replay, I cracked up because he was most certainly targeting Antigua with his helmet for no other reason than he was amped up!😂😂😂

Sorry man life is hard. Side note, I had an umpire tell me I couldn't say shoot it 4. Said I would offend someone. I'm like alright, people say shoot it or shoot him. All the time with baseball. My point, don't get offended dude.
Life is hard but not because of that. I’ll support who I want.

I’ve been around baseball my whole life and never heard anyone say shoot it or shoot him, so not sure what that’s about.

I only watched the clip once. At first glance, it looked to me like he was aiming either for the FS dugout or a FS player to his right, just out of the still frame. At whom was he directing those birdies?
I think he was just celebrating. It happened so fast that it didn’t seem directed at anyone. JMO

The question is worth asking. I've never seen anyone giving the finger as an expression of pure joy or celebration. That was an F U to someone, some thing, and so it is a mystery as to what in that moment of victory was an F U foremost in his mind.

Could it have been toward the media who had questioned Tennessee, or other doubters he had been reading or hearing?

Could it have been more existential--giving the bird to "the curse" or the weight of previous Tennessee (under)performances in the CWS?

But he had someone or something in mind. Nobody has ever referred to that finger as the Yipeee digit.

His teammates. Looked like Antigua, but then they were laughing together. That’s why I asked the question in the original post.

It was 100% a response to Antigua who saluted him after he threw his helmet and then they started celebrating together. Some of you people try so hard to find a reason to disparage the team you supposedly like, get over yourselves. Other fan bases already used the tired "classless" narrative to death without supposed fans parroting it, if you don't like it don't watch there are plenty of other teams to pull for but I have bad news they are all manned by college students who are probably going to hurt your fragile feelings.
