Whoa... If they attempt that, you will see total chaos. Even if they attempted it unsuccuessfully, world oil markets would spike and you are talking about some serious activity probably coming from Western European nations also.

From all indications, that would be one of the first things Iran would do. They have attempted trial runs by loading speed boats with mines and they can deploy hundreds of them extremely fast.
