Butch gives every Vol player an inch today

It didn't have to be indisputable that he had possession it had to be indisputable that he lost possession! They did rule it a TD on the field so there for it has to be INDISPUTABLE that he fumbled!
What is indisputable is relative to whether you are the team favored to win and whether it goes in your favor in SEC officiating.

I thought it was a fumble at first blush but watching it in slow motion I couldn't say he didn't have possession when the ball breaks the plane. Almost looked like the pylon knocks the ball out of his hand to me.

For the first time, I'm looking at this replay and thinking to myself that it as a freaking TD.

Me too! It looked pretty obvious it was a fumble on the jumbotron...but looking at it now there is no way they can absolutely say that the ball was out before it broke the plane, he could have had grip on the ball when it broke the plane! Doesnt matter now, but dang...

Bilo is turning into a powerhouse. They just bought up all the piggly wiggly's. There soon to become Bi-Hi, supply and demand there taking the competitors out one pig at a time

Even if Bi Lo is a little higher, I will grocery shop 6 days a week and twice on Sunday there before I will at Wal Mart! Their produce and meat departments are INFINITELY better than Wal Mart's!

We all agree it was a fumble. Question is, when did the fumble occur? I can argue that he was pushing the ball down like they do when reaching for extra yards, they still have possession then. His hand was definitely on the ball when it hit the plane. You can see his hand go down and the ball take a direct path down as it crosses the pylon.

There was not clear evidence when the fumble occurred, so by rule that doesn't constitute indisputable evidence, the call on the field should have stood by rule.

Moot point now though.

It's a dumb rule.
It should return to the point where the fumble happened with no change of possession. Just like if it had occoured at the 50.

If you kick a punt out of the endzone should you replay the down or should it be a touchback? They should do away with safety's too. Just spot it at the 1.

Technically his hand is very much touching it as the ball crosses the goaline

Contact with the ball does not equal possession, unless you are Jabar Gaffney in the endzone.

It's not just dumb. It's the worst rule in football.

Why does the offending team get double-punished? Lose the ball AND give it to the other team on the 20??

And why does the opposing team get the ball? They never possessed it, so why do they get it at all??

I say change the rule and make it loss of down, period.

It is to prevent a team that is close to the goal-line from just throwing the ball at the endzone. It is, in essence, fumbling the ball in the endzone and the other team recovering. I have no problem with the rule. It sucks for us right now, but fumbles should be punished. The pendulum will swing our way at some point in the future. I just wish the Georgia player would have hit him a little harder to push the hand to the other side of the pylon.

If you fumble ob at the 45 should the other team get the ball at the 45?

Come on man.....you can't be that stupid?

You just had to do it didn't you?

Man I love how Butch is pulling this team together. It wouldn't so lng ago I remember our team giving up in that KY gm. Our players have came a long ways since then. There hasn't been this much excitement around our program and players in yrs. I believe we have finally got our coach. GO VOLS!

That's what I was thinking. Not exactly a clear TD but awful hard to overturn it.

Easy to overturn. When I saw it on the jumbotron in the stadium, I turned to my dad and said he fumbled it. Sucks but, the ball was already coming out of his hand in the pictures
