I'll give him a chance to prove himself. Looking at next years schedule at the best 6 wins. More like 4 or 5.

So, will Bray be able and want to convert to the spread offense run by Jones? If Bray leaves, I believe Worley was in a spread in high school. Jones' spread utilizes four WRs most of the time. Who will be the starting 4 WRs, especially if CP and Hunter leave.

Changes coming to the defense as well, since Jones runs a 4-3 with man/press coverage.

Disappointing hire, I don't think Jones is a good coach he just followed Brian Kelly's path of success at Central Michigan and Cincinnati. He has no experience turning around a program so he might be in over his head. I hope I am wrong but it looks to me like we will see another coaching search in the near future.

I'm stoked! Lets Go Vols! He hasn't done anything to show us he's a bad coach. Should be behind him from the get go!

I hope he follows in Brian Kelly's footsteps and gets us into a NC in three years.

But I do understand your hesitation but this guy is a thousand times better than dooley. His players LOVE him, no homo, and have battled for him. Hopefully that intensity can result in some great recruiting classes and lots of W's.

I know everyone is a little disappointed that we didn't hit the home run but honestly, other than Gruden who was honestly a long shot at best, there wasn't anyone else available better than the coach we got.

we were lucky to even get a coach peroid if you listen to Hart.....I'm not listening to Hart. Sports Talk in Atlanta said this was the worst coach search ever.....Butch Jones was the only winner here! 18 Million $$$$ worth

I think if there was a coaches poll Butch Jones wouldn't be in the top 20. That being said he still might turn out to be a great coach. Fulmer had no head coaching experience when he took over and he ended up winning a national championship before he got fat and lazy. The thing that worries me is "the University of Tennessee". Everybody thinks Hamilton & Hart are idiots because of their hires and how they went about it. I think the problem goes alot deeper than those two men. Why doesn't a "top" coach want to come here? Either they were no interested and would't even talk to us or they just flat turned us down. And I don't think we have any "big money" boosters that are interested in winning. Our boosters are weak. It might be wise to drop out of the SEC and join the big east or acc.

Look, the man wanted the job, he will do fine, and I'm behind him as well as my money. I don't contribute big bucks but my 5k is all for him and him turning our program around. Good luck Coach!

I'm cautiously optimistic. Not the homerun hire we had hoped for but way ahead of Dooley.

I still think we need to address a lot of issues at the Chancellor and BOT level. Academics is the top goal at our university but academics and athletics are not mutually exclusive. UTK's goal should not be top 25 research university but to educate the best and brightest in TN. People like Cheek and Martim that fail to understand the true mission of UTK need to be shown the door and replaced with people who know and love our university.
