Butch Jones in defeat

The end is the best though. CBJ tells them,"Dont Lose faith. We have a group of players that are fighters. They wont give up."

It's refreshing after three years of listening to Dooley mumble "It is what it is."

IMHO - Dooley was all about team and himself when they won. When the team lost, he was all about the team.

Seeing the writing on the wall, Dooley abandoned his team with Mizz last year. He basically walked off the field with 2-3 chances to win before OT. When that happened, the team said "F... it". They underachieved against Vandy and played enough to win against KY.

IMHO, Butch's biggest challenge will be to exercise the "demons of losing, little motivation, poor inspiration and bad attitudes from the Jrs adn Srs on this year's squad. The true frosh, RS frosh, soph and RS soph don't have the baggage the upper classmen do. If he can reach in and change the hearts/minds of his JRs and above, I believe we have a real good chance of going 7+ wins. If we win a big game early on, then CBJ may well earn Coach of the Year award due to the team's success.

Dooley knew what was coming and knew he couldn't win. He sucked as a head coach and he proved it when he didn't try to win against MO. That one game made me hate that guy forever. No decent coach plays for a tie.

I do agree that UT does seem like the one super odd loss on Butch's resume. Seems like that was the one game where Dooley coached, and where Butch had a brain fart.

I just think that what we will see is a well prepared team, and a coach that takes losing personally and points the finger at himself first.

I can deal with that.

How could you expect the man to focus while playing his dream team, in the dream stadium? A lesser man would have fainted in the locker room.

I don't drink. So if I tripped out on you I just straight up tripped out.

Bottom line is you came out of nowhere...unprovoked... and made some pretty disparaging personal comments about me. Now you say you don't remember and you weren't drunk. I don't understand it but I'm good. Peace out.

42 divided by 3 is slightly worse than 94 Divided by 7 neither is considered close scores in my opinion. Yes our defense was awful. As far as the points given up to UT that really counters your argument, yes we had really good offense in 2012, not as good in 2011, a terrible defense in 2012 and a bad defense in 2011. The reality is only time will tell on the actual battlefield. But these comparison are totally theoretical. As a VOL fan and Grad, I hope we do great, but seeing is believing at this point.
A little late to the party but while we're using numbers as a reference I'll go ahead and give some for those two scenarios. In 7 losses UT 42 ppg given per loss, Cincy in it's 3 only gave up 29 ppg per loss. Avg points scored in loss UT - 30 Cincy 15.

2011 UT D was manageable. The O stunk it up. 28 ppg given per loss. Avg ppg in loss a staggering 9 in 7 games.

I didn't say I don't remember. I remember. Your talking about when you reported me to the mods and turned around and friend requested me to play it off. I got my warning from them and put it in the past. Perhaps you should quit being butthurt and do the same.

Sorry dude but you are wrong. I didnt report you to any mod and why would I play anything off? Don't flatter yourself. I came back at you pretty much how you came at me and my posts were deleted as well. BTW...the word butthurt is worn out, find something else.

Actually it might be something groundbreaking. Because I'm pretty sure the last coach would have spoken about how bad the team sucks after losing.

Dooley after losing: We are just a bad team. Schematic, dynamic, stature, process....were just a bad team. Anything else?

The difference is, Butch had a good team and backed them when they did lose and it was in question. At least Dooley was right. HIS team sucked.
