Paul Harris is a HS senior? Wow!
Big kid.
Could be an interesting year. I just wonder how infectious this will be to the fan base? Curious how that 1st home game will be.

Unfortunatly stands will only be half full since about half of Vol "fans" are witholding their support until CBJ "proves it on the field". SMDH

I do agree, but Jones system is made to wear opponents down. We may be thin at LB, DB, etc but are players are going to be in superior shape compared to last year. This, along with a new scheme change, should keep our defense from giving up 500 yards a game and 35 plus points. We should compete with everyone outside Bama and maybe GA IMO.

Agree, but ain't skeered of the Dawgs.

No. 91 now until he is out of the dog house.

The young man has never had a WR coach. He was a 4 star prospect on talent alone. Can you even imagine how good he can be with Azzanni and Jones on him everyday? This No. 91 jersey thing only screams one thing, Jones and Azzanni expect big things from Harris and they are going to ride him until he reaches his full potential.

Jones actually reminds me a lot of my pastor in some ways. My pastor has a philosophy that he invests a great deal in the people of our church. He talks with them. Spends time with us. He knows every name, shakes every hand, hugs any necks that want it or he feel needs it, and He loves us. It is genuine.

But, he will be the first to tell you that he does it, in part, in order to gain credibility. It is one of his ways of establishing his leadership and "earning" the right to have hard conversations with people about difficult things - to rebuke and admonish when needed.

I think CBJ thinks a lot the same way. He pours enough into these guys that he can chew tails and tear new ones whenever necessary and still have enough personal collateral with them to be genuine and honest with the fanny pats, praises and other love when the situation merits it. It's almost a fatherly kind of vibe. He does it all out of his affection for these guys and the game itself.

He really does seem to be a "master motivator" by playing with the whole realm of emotions.

Honestly it does "seem" different.... I will withold my feelings, not to see if he wins, but to see if the team competes until the last whistle and I want to see it when it hurts the most. It's trial by fire, when we're down big late in the third.....then what happens, especially if our record is not what we want at the time. That will tell me what I need to know !

I do agree with the wait and see approach, but imo the team fought to the end in majority of their games last year. The year before we were getting spanked in the second half. This is an improvement that I saw from '11 season to this past season that for some odd reason many don't. Yes we lost the games but still fought to the end, so this team knows how to fight to the end already. They just need to put it away when the iron is hot, which they couldn't do. That's just imho that's all...

Of course the def just killed us but just as bad was critical 3rd down play calling. We missed several key ones that just took the wind out if the team.

If cbj can improve our def n make a few critical 3rd down he wins 8 games this year..

Dools teams just could never make that critical play n games while he was here.

Paul Harris is an incoming freshman never played a down in college......4 stars out of HS and lots of expectations.

Things take time to get there. This team had '11 where it couldn't finish the 2nd half. Then this past year it took games further into the end. With some key games that they fought hard to the end. Then next year...who knows how it could have been. Its neither here or there at this pt but it is baby steps to build the foundation well imo.

I remember there was a thread started early last season where the guy was wondering if the Os quick streak ability was going to hurt the D that was in transition etc. He got flamed out for it. It makes a difference when depth is an issue. Anyway like we agreed on the O didn't capitalize at key moments and the D had to go back out quicker than they should have. Now its said that Bray had a hand in messing up the coaches game plan of slowing the game down to give the D proper time on the sideline.

I reread my post later when I refreshed it on my phone and I saw that and changed it knowing someone would respond like u did and not surprised it was u.

So here is my response to u bud: I, and not u, believe these kids on the D played their hearts out this past season. Were they not very good and had issues??? Yes!! But I, not u, am VERY proud of how hard they played for the Orange and White. I changed it to the majority just because of the Vandy game cause Bray pretty much just threw that game and had the nerve to say let the D win this one. THEY PLAYED THEIR HEARTS OUT IMO, not in ur opinion obviously, and I'm proud of them for going out there and giving it their best. Fell short, but I didn't see them throw in the towel like Bray did during Vandy.
