I can name several of the BEST coaches in college sports that have done this very thing. It is a JOB! Let's hope that the fact that he was our 4th or 5th or 15th choice pushes him to prove us wrong.

Butch has always had integrity issues. no surprise.

just like your man the Gruden, right? If you believe all the crap you guys were spouting off, Gruden has had a MOU in place for months. What a lying prick for him to trash the MOU and agreement that was in place!!

What low integrity and character! JMHO

Kind of reminds me of Kiffin Vols departure.

"He made the university look foolish. While Whit Babcock and Santa Ono huddled to find ways to appease Jones, Jones was job hunting".

Not how I se it.

For the op: not close to kiffin. He constantly spoke to the president and even his team captain about the offers. I think that's different.

How is that compared to Kiffin?
The Cincy AD said Hart was a class act and that he gave him a courtesy call to speak with Jones.
Jones kept his AD in the loop the whole time.
Jones called the AD and told him he was leaving, then called a team meeting and told the players the news himself.

Not anywhere close to the way Kiffin left town.:ermm:

He said he was committed while comparing the Colorado and Purdue jobs. Babcock had to give the leeway to allow Tennessee to talk to him and this was after said statement. Babcock then gave him 24 hours to make a decision on Tennessee. Really, all I'm seeing are an angry minority of Cinci fans and or media. The majority of Bearcat fans are objective and realize that Tennessee is clearly a better job that he would be asinine not to consider.

The Cincinnati AD wanted a decision on whether Jones was staying or going by 9am yesterday. He said he was staying and was committed to Cincinnati, and then left the next day.

But let's all rush to his defense because he's our coach now!

In fact, Kiffin at least warned Hamilton that he would be interested in the USC job if they wanted him. I don't remember him telling the AD he would absolutely stay and then going back on his word.

This is only partially true. He wanted a decision and then gave him another deadline when Tennessee inquired about his services and Babcock allowed them to discuss the job with him. From the Tennessee talks forward, he had 24 more hours in which he responded early this morning.
