Butch Jones reflects on his time at Tennessee

I wish Ark St no ill will but I have zero respect for Butch Jones. Lighting the cigar, celebrating a win against a team of kids he recruited is beyond low.

Every school recruiting against him should show that picture of that clown. It’s nothing but business for him.
So if we hired away Saban, beat Bama the next year, you would expect Saban to not celebrate the win?

We fired him, you expect your ex's to raise your kids too?

That is not exactly apples to apples. If Tennessee hired Saban, it damn sure wouldn't be as just an intern. You are playing devil's advocate to an extreme. Butch Jones was never a member of the Alabama coaching staff. It shouldn't be that hard to understand where some of the Tennessee resentment is coming from (unless you are playing dumb here). Jones was violating the spirit of his contract by not seeking to mitigate the cost of the buyout by seeking comparable employment. Unlike Arkansas with Bielema, however, Tennessee chose to continue paying the buyout anyway. Tennessee handled that situation with maximum class. Jones should have been appreciative and done the same.

I’d expect Saban to act with class and not be posing for pictures but that’s just me. You obviously don’t have an ounce of class in you, like Butch.

Some jobs are just too big for some people. This is how I view UT and Butch Jones. The last few months, when it was obvious that Jones was in over his head, were painful to watch.

I hope he does well at Ark. State, and is wise enough to stay there.

Go Vols.

Sounds like your problem is with UT lawyers then.

So, because he got fired, and didnt take a job where HE was in direct competition with his old team, he should have acted like a school girl and stayed obsessed with UT, and not done any wrong in our eyes, for some acceptable time frame?

He got fired. Move the eff on. If you dont want to see pictures of him smoking cigars dont read stories about it or change the channel.

He's so full of s@#$.

LOL. It wasn't Texas, USC, Michigan, or even a strong mid-major like UCF or Houston. Arkansas State was always his dream job all along. Uh-huh.

Dooley and Pruitt may not have worked out, but I think they were both good people. Butch, on the other hand, is a snake oil salesman.

Nobody wants to go to Arky State, not even their alumni. He’s more full of shite than a Christmas goose.

eh, he is putting lipstick on the pig. ;)

I think that is right though - Dooley and Pruitt are guys who know football and great coordinators but couldn't make it as the big cheese. Butch just always seems to be someone who knows more about press conferences than actual football.

I think he can do well at Ark St. UT, the lights were just too bright and the job was too big.
He couldn’t handle big boy football. He was in over his head, and he knew it year one.
