Bruce Pearl. The way he markets the program, motivates players, his energy and demeanor. Thoughts?

He reminds me of Butch Jones. That guy that won 4 championships in 6 years. Lets hope he coaches like him too.

Yes, their enthusiasm for everything orange is very similar. I just hope CBJ can produce W's like CBP did. I'm loving the vibes around the team these days.

Butch seems a touch more professional. I can't see him running around basketball games with his shirt off.

I don't care what anyone thinks. Basketball was so much more fun when Pearl coached.

I agree that Coach Jones has energy similar to that which Coach Pearl brought to the program. I was never really enthusiastic about the run and gun style of basketball that Pearl brought with him. It was fun to watch, but I always questioned whether we could ever win a championship with that style of play.

Coach Jones, on the other hand, makes me feel a lot of confidence (which I struggle to keep under control due to how many times we've been burned in the last 5-6 years). They guy really seems like he knows the game and has a vision. Dooley, god bless him, just never seemed like he had it together. He didn't inspire confidence and it sure as heck never looked like he really knew the ins and outs of the game in the way that Jones seemingly does.

Plus, I can't ever see Coach Jones talking about "showering discipline" at a press conference. Man, was that embarrassing. Here's to those days being LOOOOONG behind us! Go Vols!
