The truth is, for all the ESPN and such hates us, the sports world likes it when Tennessee is competitive. Bowls know we will bring hordes of fans. TV syndicates know they will have hordes of viewers. Historically, win, lose, or draw, Tennessee games tend to be exciting to watch. For whatever reason, when we're competitive, lots of people want a piece of us. This makes for good scheduling. If you ask me, our being down and getting the "hate" isn't hate. It's disappointment and anger that we have let ourselves fall so low. We have been a cash cow and darn fine entertainment. Then "we" took that away from them. The SI cover and last years College Football coming for the Florida game just shows they really do miss us. "We're Tennessee" actually means something not only to us but many others as well.

THIS! The truth is, how many times has ESPN featured us on game day, only to have us crap the bed on national television ("cough" Florida last year "cough")? The way I see it, it's our job at this point to make believers of the sports media again. It's not their job to have blind faith that we'll get there.

Tell me about it. I owned that one with his signature, and a Game ball with his dads and his sig, a coozy that said TO Jake, Go Vols- signed, and a mini football with his dad and EB.


I had the hook-up that year from somebody that could just drop a box of stuff off and get it signed.

I was swept up in the frenzy too.

In the gnm household all traces of that man have been removed.

My dog ate part of the coozie, my sons play football with the signed game ball, but I kept the EB,MK ball and the magazine is in a box of books somewhere.

I still have the, "it's time!" shirt that I wear to mow the lawn but I had my wife sew a patch on it, over the Kiffin Camp, or whatever it said on the practice t-shirt.
