Not entirely convinced about the bolded statement. He was a good recruiter and I do think you are correct that he could succeed in a smaller market like that where his schemes could have a much better chance of success than in smashmouth SEC. Not really sure he can develop players though......at all.

That's why he needs to stick to a level (G5 or less) where he can win games primarily by simply out-talenting people. Because you're right, he's totally incapable of developing talent.

If he has any self awareness at all, he will be a better HC at his next job than he was at Tennessee. If you can spend two years at Alabama and not come away from it with something that can help you, I don't know if you can be helped.
