if you're planning on getting something new, might as well get it done now, you've got a few months, anyhow.

Principles that Obama supports on gun issues:
Ban the sale or transfer of all forms of semi-automatic weapons
Increase state restrictions on the purchase and possession of firearms.

'Semi-Automatic' sounds too mean for the libs, i guess.

and ammo, they will go after the ammo first I think

yeah, very true, easier to slip through the cracks.

I'm going to get one of the "evil" guns that is sure to end up on the ban list, either something from Bushmaster or perhaps an FAL conversion, if i can find one that looks solid.

Of all the problems facing the new administration, this has to be close to the bottom on priorities.

They are worried about the global credit crisis, the war in Iraq, the energy crisis, medicare/social security, the mortgage crisis, the banking crisis, etc first. Then they will want to address gun control issues.

I'm not buying the idea that the new administration is going to have time to focus on gun issues with the enormous problems facing the country that it has to address first.

actually all this depends on how fast the moderat demorats allow them to move. If they allow it , things will move very fast. WE are in for a rough ride. The ignorant mass has spoken. Now we will pay the price I encourage all veteran's who fought to defend this great country to fly their flags upside down as a distress signal when the regin begins.

Obama probably won't be the one pushing this item. Look for Pelosi, reid, or one of their cronies. It will probably happen fairly quickly while they are still feeling momentum from the election.

Buy your guns now. Hilarious.

Hurry up everybody. Be afraid. I can't help but find the humor in this.

Carry on with the gun hording. I might swing by Wal-mart this weekend and check out the line at the gun counter just for laughs.

You just keep on laughing as your freedoms are eroded one by one. Sooner or later they will get around to one that offends even you.

the Transition Period might be a good time to buy other big ticket items. Once an Obama administration raises corporate taxes, institutes Card Check, and increases the minimum wage , everything will be more expensive.

Well we are in a thread about the effects of the new administration on gun rights.:)

UT IE 95 doesn't believe that the 2nd Amendment provides an individual right to keep and bear arms. He's perfectly content with the police and military (and, presumably, Obama's Civilian National Security Force) being the only people who have weapons.
