I hope I never have to use a gun in self-defense.

I do like to deer, turkey and duck hunt. Not owning a gun is a problem for me.

Agreed...I've never duck hunted though. I don't want to hurt anyone, anyone.....but to protect my wife and children yes I'd pull the trigger.

BPV is right, duck hunting is addictive. The first time you go will not be the last

As with all luxuries it is easy to get spoiled.

But the portable propane setups are just fine too.

Freezing in a cold blind with no action basically sucks.

It doesn't matter who wet, cold and miserable you are everything seems great when groups drop in your decoys

It's an adrenaline rush that I suspect is similar to an illicit drug high. I just got to a point in life where the wet, cold, miserable part outweighed the euphoria of nailing three shots.
