This should be a close game with the Vols winning. Bama struggles (a little) to run the ball and stop the run so we should be able to control the clock. We need to establish the run, work the play action and hit some passes downfield. Get Nico into a rythm with some quick hit short completions and play as fast as possible. They are susceptible on defense and we have to capitalize without hurting ourselves with penalties.

Both teams have looked completely different during their last two games. It would be interesting to see a stat comparison going back only the last two weeks.
On their website you can sort it by season, last 3 games, last game.

The parallels for these two teams from the last two and half weeks are eerie.

Bama has not been the same team since halftime against UGA. They did NOT let up against UGA; they were running the same plays but UGA was executing way better on D. If not for a few busted plays to eek out a win, UGA had clearly figured it out. Heck, even remove that first quarter where Bama ambushed them and it is a completely different ballgame. Credit to DeBoer for seeing something against UGA and exploiting it early but allowing UGA to get back into it showed how questionable that D is. Also Bama's only TD in the second half was that busted Williams play. Vandy and SCAR were not scared of Bama's O and limited the explosives, which is the difference maker against this Bama O.

Similar theme for us. Since the second half of OU where we let off the gas because our O Line was getting whooped and Nico had multiple turnovers, we have not been the same. We looked awful against Arky on O and D, but the D clamped them hard in the red zone. Stats wise they killed us. Same thing for Florida; lot of opportunities for us to lose there but credit to the D for stepping up and for Billy making some mistakes.

Also both teams are 6 points from being undefeated while nobody thinks either is that great.

Looking at the offensive numbers from last 3 games, the drop-off is dramatic. As should be expected. We have zero chance this week if that trend continues.

Need to review the numbers. I have provided two sources that have different numbers.

I believe that Milroe will run all over us 10-12 yards at a time. I am not sure we have a spy fast enough and strong enough to keep him in check.
Edwin Spillmam would be great.im this role, but the staff seems to be waiting until next year to unleash him.

I think Arian Carter can sort of keep up. He has the athetic build to do so.

The biggest advantage we have is in our rushing offense vs their rushing defense. Yet, we had an ever bigger advantage in this area vs Florida and didn't capitalize like we should have.

Nico has to be a threat on the ground. I would just tell him when to keep it and when to hold so he isn't over thinking too much. He can beat guys on sheer atheticism alone. Let a DE race him to the sideline. Tire those big boys out!

Pardon me if this sounds obnoxious because it isn't mean that way but those stats mean a lot..........until the kickoff.
