Im a recent guy although Ive been following the web site since fall 08. Recently signed up so could access certain areas of the web site. Overall enjoy the web site. Recently made a few posts, but didnt realize there was such a political correctness to it. Only got one thing to all you old guys who resent the new ones. Get over it.

Did you have surgery or something?????:):):eek:hmy:

This is my "dead period"...Let the guys who no more than I do get the '11 and '12 players up on the board. Let the guys who know more than I debate "the film" and "fast twitch" etc... Til then I'll recharge the battery and read at my leisure.

I posted this in another thread, but got no response:
I am new to Volnation, but havebeen a Vols fan since I was in diapers. It has only been in the past 2 years that I have paid much attention to recruiting. I would pay a little attention on NSD, but only to see how we had done. These past 2 years it seems as though recruiting has exploded. I have become addicted to this site and keeping track of commitments. My question is this. Has the emphasis fans place on keeping track of recruiting grown in the past few years, or have I just been out of the loop until recently?

I am in the same boat as you. I paid attention after NSD to see who we got. But now, I seem to follow it more and more.

Hopefully those who followed recruiting for the first time will be a little more reserved in how much stock they put into the words of an 18 year old, next year.

signing day is over so all the people that get on here 3 weeks before signing day, clogging the board up with pointless threads, asking obvious questions and starting ridiculous rumors in hopes of gaining cool points.... we'll cya next year. it was great

I heard Seantrel Henderson will sign a LOI with Utah State if USC suffers sanctions, and since Utah State will be one of the first choices of schools to add to the SEC when it expands to 16 teams in 2012, it led me to wonder:

who will UT choose as the new Defensive Coordinator?

Cool points, huh? From the looks of this thread you've failed miserably.

See ya later loser guy who spends all year wondering what 18 year old boys are going to do. How many subscriptions do you actually pay for? Ever pay a 900 number to get updates? You might be a recruiting junkie dweeb.

U finished your post with " it was great" But the tone was seriously negative. A simple thank you would be enough if you were sincere.

You r not the post police and people can post here all they like and whenever they like no matter the season. I find the extra converstion enjoyable.

So keep your sarcasm to yourself or mask it better than you did in this post. Thanx GBO>>>

Yeah, bye to all those guys who now have to go back to spending more time with their family, their careers and their other hobbies, i.e. bye to those who actually have a life!

guys, i am a mean, cynicle, bitter person. I like to b**** about stuff that makes me mad. but hey at least i can admit it. i wouldnt look into it anymore than that

I'll add another post to prolong this "pointless" exchange.

It's easy to make fun of those with less experience than ourselves, as we soon forget what it was like to be them.

I'm a newbie myself, and I even have to resist the urge to make fun of those asking things like "What the heck is TOS?", and "Who is this Rod Wilks guy?", and "What's wrong with Hat?".

What I have decided is that if we were all knowledgeable and polite and only posted when we had something constructive to add - This would be a pretty boring place.

IMO all of you guys & gals are welcome, whether I agree with you or not. Clog away.

:)

You mean, goodbye to those of us who are actually getting laid.:)

Because of recent events, many of the faithful have emerged from the shadows this year since this is clearly one of the most crucial recruiting classes in our history, and the process merits close monitoring. Discussion boards such as these serve as a clearing house for those of us wishing to absorb as much information as possible. Many posts--yours for instance, are just mindless drivel. However, a great deal of useful intelligence often surfaces from well-informed contributors. :eek:lol:

How old are you guys?

Recruiting 'exploded' in the late 80's and early 90's. I mean, there weren't many folks following recruiting magazines or listened to recruiting on sports talk shows until then. The internet maybe made it easier for the average fan to follow, but it's been around a long time.

From an old alumni's perspective, I don't live and die with it the way that I used to and after seeing some of the guys from the local high schools go through the recruiting process, it's a coin flip as to what makes a kid decide where to go to college. Even then, I heard a guy on a local sports talk show saying that more 5 star recruits that signed in 2005 were statistically more likely to wind up being arrested on campus than being an NFL draft pick. I wish we'd spend as much effort getting these guys a degree than getting them signed. The washout rate is a pretty high percentage.

Perspective. It's a buzz killer.

I find it kinda funny to see who responds to this thread and takes it personal...Might have been the original intent of the thread anyway....You know, to see if the OP can get a rise outta folks....

So he has nothing better to do? Like getting laid.

Point taken. We're sorry OP.

"What's wrong with Hat"

I'll answer that one.

Clearly Rod Wilks gave him some bad Kool Aid when he was on TOS speculating if Ambles was ALL VOL! or a spy for X and O.

He's really just messing with everyone. His real name is Mike Hamilton, and he really thinks CDD will be a heck of a coach.

So... Are you trying to get cool points by being a jackass? And basicly doing what you said "they" do? Nice job.
