I would take a 4 loss Baylor team in the CFP over an undefeated BYU team that played that schedule.
Their schedule is a joke. My take away from last night had more to do with the fact that Navy was ill prepared to play tackle football . In fact, I’d say that their coach could’ve done much more physical harm to his players last night than anything Covid could’ve done by mismanaging their preseason practice philosophy. If there were any teams that weren’t hitting in preseason camp yesterday I guarantee that there aren’t today. If BYU could have scheduled five scheduled five ACC/Big XII teams instead of five Big Ten/Pac-12 teams and had Sun Belt opponents instead of Mountain West opponents on its initial schedule, there's a fair chance that they'd have twelve games lined up with an outside chance of making the CFP with a convincing undefeated season.
Alas, an 8-0 BYU team with Army or Houston as its toughest opponent isn't even going to sniff the G5 NY6 spot.
Yeah you have to tackle in practice and hit. BYU d line lived 4 yards deep on navy's side f the LoS for most of the night. Not being used to physical plays will do that. Hard for anyone to have success yet alone the triple option.Their schedule is a joke. My take away from last night had more to do with the fact that Navy was ill prepared to play tackle football .
