They said he could cover more catchable space than the Gronk and better reaction time than any receiver they tested all year. It was really cool.

Put him in the same class as Dez Bryant

CP has special, first round talent. We saw it first hand. Good luck to him.

Those Sports Sciences pieces are very interesting. I'll have to look for the CP one.

Explain please.

It seems the testing was about receiving traits. To say a guy who caught 40 balls in college is on the same level as a big time NFL player is absurd. Athletically you can make whatever claim you want and probably be right as it pertains to CP. No denying the athleticism he possesses. As a receiver though, well, it's a different story.

Agree. But I don't think they were doing a thorough comparison. Just an athletic comparison.

So he needs a babysitter to get him to and from practice?

I don't see any draftnik claiming he's a polished route runner just yet, but he ruined an early 1st Rd CB prospect's chance at a big pay day by stomping his gibblets on national TV. And he put on a show in a number of games. So, trying to say he doesn't belong on the same stage as Bryant is utterly ridiculous. He could have had even more catches if we had a decent defense that would have handed the offense more possessions per game.

Plus, Joey Kent had a ton of catches from Peyton Manning, but he was never an NFL caliber WR...and he never had the shake and bake CP has.

Dude, CP isn't Dez. Not even close. No matter how you spin it or look at it. Take the shades off.

Edit: Amerson ruined his first round status with poor play on multiple occasions. One game doesn't destroy your draft stock. Not a polished route runner? That's an understatement. He can hardly learn the playbook much less run the proper route. Hunter caught, what, 80 balls. CP would have had more receptions if he could play receiver. It's not the defenses fault even though the defense was putrid.

Yes, he is on the same level as Dez was, when he was drafted...that's why he is projected as the best WR in a talented class. Every WR has different strengths and weaknesses. His happens to be a great blend of size/speed/and elusiveness after the catch. You can't discount those just because he isn't as polished as a route runner. In fact, if Dez were in the draft this year, I'd still take CP over him....and not just because he's a Vol. I'd say that if he were a Gator or Bamer.

You're upset bc sports science compared CP to Dez?

I'll find their number for u so u can call and complain.

I'm deeply upset. I broke some light bulbs and all sorts of stuff. I'm just sitting here sobbing like a baby. You caught me.

I was just pointing out that the comparison in unjustified. I was unaware that if I didn't proclaim ever Vol to be a future Hall of Famer I was wrong.

They didnt really compare them. They just said that their overall reciever rating was about the same and higher than Greg Jennings and other great recievers.

You guys can get going on the most meaningless shat sometimes. I was just summarizing the show.

It was really cool, and great press for Tennessee. Showed some of his highlights and said the school's name several times.

I am not. We just moved down to Cleveland and Im going to be visiting family in Knox before the game. I will be at the game on Saturday tho. Hit me up and maybe we can meet up if you'll be there.

Send me a picture tho. Warm weather should make it a lot easier this time :)

Hopefully I'll catch this segment. I get a kick out of the stuff they say on sports science. "This guy's fingernails grow at a rate that matches John Elway out of Stanford!"

This is funny, that's what this is.
