C. Patterson was just on ESPN Sport Science

Yes, he is on the same level as Dez was, when he was drafted...that's why he is projected as the best WR in a talented class. Every WR has different strengths and weaknesses. His happens to be a great blend of size/speed/and elusiveness after the catch. You can't discount those just because he isn't as polished as a route runner. In fact, if Dez were in the draft this year, I'd still take CP over him....and not just because he's a Vol. I'd say that if he were a Gator or Bamer.

Comparing CP to Dez is really not comparable due to Dez being a 3 yr player to CP's one. I would take Dez all day and twice on Sunday because of polished skills. Although I will say that baring no injuries if CP had of stayed he would probably had the better stats and been a better player than Dez. Below are the stats for Dez's 3 yrs in college to CP's one

I'm deeply upset. I broke some light bulbs and all sorts of stuff. I'm just sitting here sobbing like a baby. You caught me.

I was just pointing out that the comparison in unjustified. I was unaware that if I didn't proclaim ever Vol to be a future Hall of Famer I was wrong.
Yep....that sounds about right. You keep trying to compare what those athletes have done SINCE they been in the league when we are talking about where they were sitting ON draft day.

CP will likely get drafted ahead of where Dez Bryant went, and you call us stupid...Captain Brainiac?. And going 8-20 spots into the 1st Rd, puts CP and Hunter in the same conversation as even Calvin Johnson.

I agree with this ^

If you want to compare Dez and Cp.

Compare Dez first year at Ok. State to CP first year at Tennessee.

Really isn't even close.

If CP can handle the money he will be a special player,if he cant be out of the NFL in 3 years.

One thing I always liked about CP is that he always had a smile on his face and just seemed like a nice guy and also like someone you could leave your kid with without worrying he or they would burn down the house before you got back. I hope he keeps that core of who he is no matter how much money and the NFL pressures and fame can just destroy some players.

I wish I had known this was on.. It would have been cool to see. CP seems like a genuine good guy, I wish him nothing but the best obviously.

It seems the testing was about receiving traits. To say a guy who caught 40 balls in college is on the same level as a big time NFL player is absurd. Athletically you can make whatever claim you want and probably be right as it pertains to CP. No denying the athleticism he possesses. As a receiver though, well, it's a different story.

You must not understand what Sport Science is.

I would say CP is a comparable if not even a slightly better over-all athlete than Dez and I think this is illustrated by how many facets of the game CP was involved in. Put the ball in his hands and he can make more things happen. Dez on the other hand is a better receiver.

If sheer athletic talent was the only attribute that equaled success on the football field at a respective position, Tyler Bray could've won the heisman. Because it's not, TB didn't do so well. Because it's not, and route running & catching the ball are also factors into success on the field, Dez > CP as a receiver.

Freshman year vs Junior year. It shouldn't be close.

It's a new system and a brand new team you act like CP was at Tennessee for 3 years.

He was on campus less then a year.

And I just looked up Dez stats his first year at OK state and Cp first year at Tennessee.

It's laughable CP puts Dez to shame.

You're right about certain things, but two years of additional grown man athleticism changes the game. I just don't think you can compare the two at that stage of their careers.

CP had already played college ball for two years. Physically juniors are more game ready than freshmen. Apples to oranges.

Edit: I was beaten to the punch.

Heard on local radio down here that CP's interviews aren't going well. Any truth to that? Even still, Saints might take him if he's still on the board at 15.

Ok I'll compare Dez sophomore year to Cp first year at Tennessee.

That way Dez had a whole two years in a system.

While Cp had what 6 or 7 months.

Edit: It's about the same.

You're trashing our own players like you were a Bamer fan or something. CP is going to get drafted AHEAD of where Dez Bryant did. What part of that escapes you, Goober-Man?

I just have realistic expectations and don't let the orange shades cloud my judgement.

CP's never had much attitude so it could just mean he's not answering the way the Saints are used to. CP showed a very mischievous streak but not a bad boy streak. Teams are looking to profile people who will psychologically fit with the rest of the team, people who are going to be happy there location wise, and people who fit the corporate demeanor/culture each team has for itself and other little things like that and any of those things might cause them to blink.

He's never struck me as the kind of guy who is going to go in and give the standard answers whatever agent told him to and that might also throw them off a bit as well.

I met CP at the Knoxville Christmas parade. He was a very friendly guy and I will be a fan, no matter which team drafts him.

CP is a better playmaker than Dez Bryant. Elusiveness isn't even comparable. Better receiver, yes it's Dez, but CP's potential in the NFL is limitless. He might flame out(I doubt it he'll at least be a great return man), but Dez is one of the biggest headcases in the NFL. I'll take CP. And seeing as he'll be drafted higher than Dez I'm pretty sure a few GM's would agree.
