I'm sorry but Southern Miss's coach is freaking nuts. Rambling on about how USM deserves a BCS bowl bid after losing to 3-9 UAB 2 weeks ago. That's on top of having lost to 6-6 Marshall in week 2 of the season. I'm not really sure any two loss mid-major should go to a BCS bowl but if one does, it's gotta be TCU. Boise State will be ranked higher than Houston heading into their bowl game and their losses came at the hands of in state rivals SMU(7-5) and Baylor(9-3). So they have a better win and better losses. If I was teetering on one, two loss mid-major going, I definitely don't think two should go.
Believe he is saying "we beat the team that was going to a bcs bowl, so send us to one". From what ive read just sarcasm because all everyone was worried about was the $. Id rather see usm up against an aq school than houston. Still think its funny he called houstons last td trash.
My mistake then if he was being sarcastic. I took it as him pandering for a BCS bid. If they get one, good for them. I'm not sure he has a legit gripe if they don't get one though. Guess we'll see
Probably lose money regardless. We already know Sumlin can get out for a better job. Maybe USM's coach can too. Losing both coaches could cost them money as well
Fedora wont leave, his son is on the team haha
I don't have a son so I guess I can't say. If I had a bigger opportunity right in front of me and I felt I might not get that opportunity again, I might leave even with my son there. He'll still get a degree and be on the team. But the chance to make more money and coach at a bigger school might not be there. 11-2 is a really good season. You might think you can replicate it but it's easier said than done. Would just be hard for me to pass on big opportunity if it was offered. You should always believe in yourself but you're facing coaches who want to win as much as you. Sometimes you've gotta take the opportunity when it's offered.
You're probably right though. Doubt he leaves son.
