Tennessee coach Josh Heupel joined quarterbacks coach Joey Halzle in traveling to the West Coast on Tuesday to make multiple stops in California. One of their visits allowed them to see a Southern California commitment the Vols have been pursuing for months, and he's now planning to return the favor.
Heupel and Halzle went to Colony High School in Ontario, Calif., to meet with Class of 2023 defensive lineman Deijon Laffitte on Tuesday afternoon. Laffitte has continued to show interest in Tennessee over the past couple months despite his commitment to the Trojans, and he said he's scheduled to take an official visit to Knoxville the weekend of Dec. 16 to get a firsthand look at the Vols before Early Signing Day.
I mean, Garner is the GOAT, but not everyone he recruits turns out to be a dude. Remember when he didn't want Jay Hardy from the portal? Dude entered the portal last year and never found a home as far as I can tell.
Nobody hits on all. Good grief Garner gets his share and coaches up what he has got. He isn’t perfect but there aren’t many position coaches better if any on the D-Line. GBOOk?
Point is even Rodney doesn't bat a thousand. Just because he's recruiting this guy doesn't mean he's a dude. I hope he is.
More telling of HIS true ability and makeup in comparison to his high school ranking. I’ve posted before that Hardy’s recruitment soured Garner on chasing camp stars and to trust his own assessments more.I mean, Garner is the GOAT, but not everyone he recruits turns out to be a dude. One part is the argument makes sense, no one gets them all right. Kids have to do their part also.I mean, Garner is the GOAT, but not everyone he recruits turns out to be a dude.
