HOW DOES TO’OTO’O FIT WITH THE VOLS?

The 6-2, 220-pound inside linebacker fits the profile of what head coach Jeremy Pruitt is looking for as a versatile 4X4 linebacker in his defensive scheme.

To’oto’o has the athletic ability to play in the box and in space in different sub-packages. He has experience playing the MIKE and WILL in high school.

Linebacker was a huge need in the 2019 class and To’oto’o is the most ready to play of the linebacker prospects that the Vols have landed this cycle.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR TENNESSEE?

Landing To’oto’o is a huge win for Pruitt and his staff. Credit Brian Neidermeyer for his recruitment of To’oto’o, as well as an assist from former De La Salle standout and Vols quality control coach Kevin Simon. Beating out Alabama is a big win both on the field and in perception for Pruitt and his program.

As a player, Tennessee is getting a prospect who could find his way to the field quickly. To’oto’o is athletic enough to play every down and linebacker was a huge need in this class. Pairing To’oto’o and Quavaris Crouch together as inside linebackers is a big roster upgrade for Pruitt and co-defensive coordinator Kevin Sherrer.
