I didn't say that was upside. I defined upside, which I had been talking about, and then offered that point as well, as it seems to be pertinent to the conversation as well.

i.e. There were comments that his upside could be higher. Also, there are comments that he was further along as a freshman. But neither comment claimed that he was better than Nico in real time and should have been starting over him.

I'll wait to see who has the most upside. You go ahead and make up your mind.

2025 recruiting is going to be interesting for sure when it comes to QB. Think I'll wait and see what thier upcoming season shows, who knows maybe coaches find another QB that makes us forget Madden, Duece,and GMac

My recollection is that it was from Nico, his dad, and their high school coach. But again, I'm not invested enough in the argument to go back and comb the internet.

I'll never understand why people get invested in crapping on the idea that a QB recruit that we have an inside track on could conceivably be *better* than amazing QBs we have on the roster.

Why would a dad break up two sons at two schools for a chance for a kid to get maybe one extra year of starting? He wouldn’t send him to a crap school to start as a frosh. So he’d likely wait till soph year then starts ONE year instead of being a legacy together and have those shared memories as a family?
sometimes I think some of you think families (most or all) view their kids as cattle.

The way he did it was perfect. Great coaching, two brothers together learning and growing together and the second still gets his shot to start two years.
That’s the plan that makes sense.

OK, so BOT, badger and myself are on record in this thread as having heard/read the prediction that Madden will have a higher upside than Nico. Is that enough for you, or do you think there's some vast conspiracy against you going on?

The irony is when I read it my reaction wasn’t even necessarily positive. I sort of rolled my eyes and thought “we’ll see,” but I KNOW I read it. I thought it was his coach because it was in the context of his development thus far at the same age.
so yes you’re correct it was there

Mine wasn't to automatically believe it. At the time, every quote was that UT is the inside track for landing him. My thought was, "That'd be bad ***, to get Nico, have him ball out, and then get Madden to follow, and him be even better."

I just don't understand UT fans that get defensive and feel the need to disprove the idea that even better things may be awaiting us in the future. It's just alien to me.
