Not to be argumentative, but our hiring of AD White was a massive splash hire.Right. And while our AD and HBC weren’t exactly splash hires, they’re young and upcoming and likely more interested in hopping on board with the new way things are working. Rather than the old guys and their old ways and resistance to change.
Part of the answer to this question depends on who the booster is and what types of business(es) they own. The trickle-down effect is real. When Tennessee football rolling, Knoxville is rolling, etc.Are boosters going to start making money off of NIL deals? They are paying for players likeness but I don't see the return that generates. Are donors going to start making money off Tennessee football operations revenue in return for paying for their roster?
They can be tied to an area location. He doesn’t have to pay anything back, and he doesn’t have to sign with a certain school. He will get $350,000 right now, and upwards of $2m a year. If he chose to go to another school, he would still keep the $350k but he would lose out on the further incentives. If he stayed for a season and transferred, he forfeits any future earnings.
These NiL deals cannot be tied to a team, cannot be tied to a location, cannot have metrics you have to meet on the football field or anywhere else. Basically he’s getting $350k to sign at an NCAA power 5 school, and that’s it
Ok, didn't know about that. The good thing is that this is a 5 star QB and there are no 5 star QB in any of those states mentioned except the 2 in Cali. It's Nico.I’m on board with the consensus here, but to clarify, high school athletes can benefit from NIL money currently in Alaska, Nebraska, New Jersey, and New York, along with California.
Who told you it can't be tied to a region? He has to meet his obligations for events, and if he wasn’t in the area he would be unable to do that. But the NIL deal cannot say he has to be in Tennessee, or Georgia, or California.
All that stuff is talked about behind the scenes, and everyone knows what’s up. We all know what this is about, but the collective can say, no no no, we didn’t buy his recruiting to us, we offered him this for wherever he went, he just chose to come here…
They could but I'm pretty sure they have an agreement not to deal with other schools athletes. Spyre is affiliated to UT... not a Player Agency that hires Sexton who acts like a mercenary the SECSpyre is still a marketing agency on top of helping with the Collective. They could sign an athlete as a client like CAA signed Bryce Young to represent his NIL interests. So if this is Spyre and Nico, people that are claiming it’s pay to play would be wrong. Nico could be profitable from a marketing perspective anywhere.

Hendon seems pretty humble and probably understand it's just the nature of the game. He's playing this year to improve his draft status and knows CJH has helped raised his stock and hopefully makes it to the NFL and makes his there.I wonder how this makes our current QB’s and our new signee Jackson feel though
