‘23 CA QB Nicholaus Iamaleava (Tennessee)

I don’t know anything for sure, but the rumor I heard doesn’t make sense timing wise. Also I think sports are the opposite of the business world from a PR world. In business, Tuesdays are the biggest day of the week for pr drops, but I think it makes more sense to do sports news on a Thursday and Friday so fans can talk about it while they’re not focusing on their m-f job.

So hopefully he drops it Thursday or Friday. Combining it with a successful weekend for the Hoops team could be huge for Tennessee fans.

Again, all speculation on my part.

Feldman and Stewart Mandel talking about the $8 million NIL deal.

Nothing new.

I do think they misunderstand collectives and their goals. They wondered, "what happens if a well-paid player doesn't start? Then the collective will have more power than the HC".

They are thinking of collectives as if the end goal is profit. If Nico were paid by Nico or Adidas...then sure, their goal is exposure. But people donating to Spyre just want to win. A kid like Nico just increases our odds of doing so. No one will care if it is Nico or Jackson or a walkon doing it.

They also got into how much the collective would earn. They worried, "what if they pay out $8mm to this kid, but can only earn $1mm in NiL deals to offset those costs? That isn't sustainable". Just LOL as if we care about roi anymore than bagmen ever have. I mean, hey, if Spyre legitimately earns some of the $8mm back and we can put that toward future players, then by all means! But that is not the expectation and the breakeven point we are looking at either. Consistent annual donations over thousands of VFLs will ride out the busts.

Didn’t think about the tournament. That’s probably more of a reason for him to not do it post Thursday. If he’s self aware he doesn’t want to take away from basketball ala Tom Brady

Earlier, talk was about Heupel could be a candidate for UCLA job. One reason the writer gave was Heupel might leave because Tennessee would not be able to compete with UCLA in this new area of NIL.

I think that might be answered now.
Lol wait...what?

Or do you mean Barnes? I could see UCLA basketball...but their football vs ours? Lmao
