‘23 CA QB Nicholaus Iamaleava (Tennessee)

well I hope it does. I hope Bass can be right. And, Ill own up to being wrong.
Right about what? I’ve only brought what AP and others have said onto the board. It would not be me that’s right. It would be AP, Callahan, Wiltfong, Chad Simmons, and everyone else

Tennessee has emerged in recent months as one of the top contenders for five-star quarterback Nicholaus Iamaleava, one of the nation's top prospects in the 2023 class. The junior at Long Beach (Calif.) Polytechnic High School returned to Knoxville the weekend of March 5 for an in-depth look at the Vols, and the top five he announced Wednesday night confirmed that Tennessee is among his current favorites.

The momentum in the 6-foot-5, 195-pound Iamaleava's recruitment has continued to shift toward the Vols coming off his latest trip to Tennessee, and multiple sources close to his recruitment have pointed to the Vols as the team to beat. I made a 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction Wednesday night for Tennessee to land him, joining 247Sports national recruiting analysts Steve Wiltfong and Greg Biggins.

Oregon received the first Crystal Ball prediction for Iamaleava in late February, and the Ducks recently have been viewed as the Vols' main competition for him, with Alabama and others also in the picture. He named a top five of Georgia, Oregon, Alabama, Tennessee and Miami on Wednesday night.

But Tennessee now is the consensus Crystal Ball favorite to land him after he and his family spent more than three days in Knoxville earlier this month. He's already planning to visit the Vols again the weekend of April 9 to attend their spring scrimmage that will be part of their "All Vol Weekend," and sources in multiple states believe Tennessee is in the driver's seat entering the stretch run of his recruitment.

In his recent public comments, Iamaleava has indicated that he's likely to announce his college decision by May, and perhaps before the end of April. Sources now believe it's possible he will announce a commitment sooner than that, although his exact timeline for a decision still might be in flux.

Vols coach Josh Heupel's staff — led by quarterbacks coach Joey Halzle, offensive coordinator Alex Golesh and Heupel himself — has done an impressive job with Iamaleava over the past several months. During the 2021 season, Tennessee was simply battling to get him on campus, but the Vols emerged as legitimate contenders following his first trip to Knoxville on Nov. 27 for Tennessee's regular-season finale against Vanderbilt.

Their persistent pursuit of him, along with his impressive visit to Tennessee earlier this month, now has helped the Vols climb to the top of his list.

It remains to be seen exactly when Iamaleava will make his college choice. But Tennessee is currently in good shape with him, by all accounts, and if everything goes according to plan for the Vols, they could be in position to land him in the not-too-distant future.
-Callahan

Callahan CB w/ 7 confidence= 110% happening soon

Then again it would be funny for him to drop a top five and commit the same week. Watching the other programs get their hopes up only to be crushed would be fun.
They do it all the time to have their moment….. sometimes I hate it but in this instance I am 100% on board with it.
