‘23 CA QB Nicholaus Iamaleava (Tennessee)

Nobody is rooting for Milton to fail and while some of the points Bigl are valid I overall agree with LittleVol. It's sickening to watch the ball sail 15 yards past a wide open WR, and that hasn't been corrected rain or shine. I hope he absolutely balls out against Clemson, I'll be there rooting for him.
I just don't have a lot of confidence in that happening.

Milton: 63% completions; Hooker 69% completions ... no major statistical difference.

Tayven Jackson practicing, it seems. I just started a thread asking about this on the football forum, but I guess this answers my question....we should have a scholarship backup QB in the Orange Bowl.

I don’t think I have ever been more excited to hear about how a specific player practices than I have about Nico. Dude is going to be special. It’s just a matter of when it happens not if.
Just think, there was a time, whenever we signed TWO Top 10 QBs. And, there were those who wanted to go with the kid not named Manning, and you couldn't fault them for it. Stewart was way more athletic, and had a cannon. He played in 11 games his freshman year, and didn't look too bad...he just wasn't Peyton Manning.

Stewart played for Art Briles in HS. He went 23-11 as starter at A&M, led them to Big 12 Championship.

Supposedly the separation occurred during the Bama game when the coaches reviewed the film and Manning was by far the better decision maker on reads, checks, etc.

He also played a part in helping us get to the NC game, if I remember correctly. There was some hype around K State going to the NC game instead of us, until Stewart's A&M team beat them.

Actually, by that time, our spot had been sealed because the 3 undefeated teams going into the final (championship weekend) were Tennessee, UCLA, and KState. Tennessee beat Miss State in the SECCG and Miami upset UCLA in a game postponed by hurricane earlier in the season. So if KState had won the Big 12 Championship game, it would have been Tennessee vs. KState in the BCS NC game. I was kind of disappointed that KState got beat because I liked the idea of playing them a lot more than FSU, which was loaded with NFL talent.

Anyway, there was no way Tennessee was getting left out after UCLA lost. They weren't going to put KState AND Florida State (with 1 loss) in over Tennessee. KState's loss got FSU in, not Tennessee. Frankly, the concern of KState jumping Tennessee if they'd won was also unfounded.
