Cade McNamara Michigan qb enters portal

Uh a player that chose to come to UT when nobody else wanted to and bought into Heupel’s vision and has been instrumental in changing the culture on Rocky Top? Milton should literally be a fan favorite. Especially to those who have been on a team before and understand what it takes for a team to succeed. You speak like you think the starters just show up on game day and perform and those are the only players that are important to a program.

You’re damn right I cheered for JG. He was a Vol, was he not? Lol like you’re seriously trying to shame me for cheering for a guy who gave his all for UT? Incredible.
Would you rather win or lose?

I think we let our coaches decide and we as fans try to be positive and we support them. It is likely they will surprise us. Even if we can't be more than 8-4 next year, Heupel has a process. It is his show and we have who we have. I trust Heupel to build this team and it's leaders. Our "Fans" should try a more supportive approach.

A player can be liked, respected, and supported, but it doesn't mean we blindly go homer and roll with the guy just because. There is a ton of those guys on every team. Fact of the matter is, Joe has likely peaked and the team will take a major step back with him at the helm. I'm not bashing the guy, but I know he's not the answer. It's ok to want better and you can't shame me for wanting more or being realistic about our chances with him.

Loyalty and hard work are admirable, but it dosen't magically make him the guy we need. We need ballers. Salute him and hope one of the other guys are ready. Unless you want to run our program on loyalty points and participation awards at the cost of winning.

Strange that fans have to be told how to be fans now. Apparently some think they choose coaches AND players like a video game or something. Weird

No one needs to be told how to be. We have enough of that in the world today. I respect the guy. I appreciate his effort. He throws a beautiful ball, he has the potential to be a freak, but he has no accuracy, no control, makes poor decisions. It is what is is, but I'm a bad fan for stating the obvious?

I would love for him to prove me wrong and hope like hell he can, but I don't want to fall back into what we just crawled out of.

Simple question to ask yourself. . Do you believe in Heupel ? IMO his record speaks for itself. He has developed guys everywhere he has been. If Milton doesn't get it done, the next guy will get his opportunity. If NICO is indeed ready he will play. I think Heupel would rather have him sit iF Milton can do the job.

Perhaps it’s your presentation of your opinions.

Something about “He sucks and can’t get us to a bowl” or weather doesn’t exactly imply that you like, support, or respect the player.

It actually screams quite the opposite.

i would like to see a better player come in. Not sure a top ranked transfer would want to come without knowing he's the starter. i say bring in the best transfer you can get and may the best man win
For clarity I meant Hartman, not McNamara.
That would be embarrassing to Joe.

Bring Cade to Rocky top he will be a excellent solution to our QB issue in 2023 till
Nico is ready for the 2024 season
No.

He already had to battle Joe at Michigan.

You're talking about creating a locker room problem instantly.

Plenty of other good transfers at QB better than Cade to choose from.

Milton isn't ideal but to go from ten wins to not even making a bowl is a ridiculous take.
If Milton were the only option...we're taking a significant step back. Still think we would become eligible.

Jackson has to get healthy and Nico just needs to get here and eat a little more.

I want a transfer guy, but we should be okay with those 3...I hope.

Yeah this all true.

If he were just better. If he could just internalize the nuances of QB. If he could just make the routine throws consistently....

That's a lot of "ifs". It's frankly too many.

We were almost a National title contender with a very average defense...

Because of our superior QB play and the importance (dependance) of him.

We can't have a game manager in this offense. AT BEST, that is what Joe is...

ZERO TURNOVERS and 7tds so far at Tennessee. 4 his last year at Michigan.
He's improved, but it's mostly scripted for him.

If we can get Ty than you get him.

Im huge fan of Ty Simpson's game.
But he won't be coming to Tennessee.

Tys father didn't even let Heupel really recruit him AFTER he said would give him a chance.

Now we have Nico coming in.

I expect 3 years of epic showdowns between the two.
No way in hell Milroe beats him out this off-season. Saban just wanted to RS him

I don't want a transfer QB. Milton will be QB1 for the opener. You are not going to make a change for several games where it is not working.... For example should he suck it up against FL. We will then need to be in future mode with the guys already onboard Jackson and Nico. We don't need someone else coming in causing drama or interrupting our future QB plans.

In summary we either win with Milton or move to future mode. This seems so logical and everything else seems illogical .... And it is not even close.

Yeah, I think I’ll let Josh make the decision over what our resident couch coaches think. If he thinks Joe can handle it, so be it. If he doesn’t, he’ll go get someone in the portal until Nico is ready.

We don’t need another qb…..We have a solid qb room and Heupel will make it work…. If a heisman level qb like Drake Maye reaches out then take him but anything else and you are going to screw up the team dynamic.
