This one is tough for me...I have a feeling many of us will say UGA was sweeter because it is fresher on our minds. Cal was the blissful answer to the question...which UT team will show up this year? It was the ultimate relief and as good as many, many great games I enjoyed previous to it over the years. I could say, in their own right, both were equally sweet, but because of the potential of the position it has placed us in and the point in the season when it occurred, I will say 51-33 at Sanford was a little sweeter than 35-18 at Neyland. I'd love to know what you guys think...

I would have to agree. Georgia is in the SEC, and it is very important to win the games in our conference. Plus, Georgia and Mark Richt have owned us for the past 6 years, so any win over them is soooo sweet!:)

UGA. Hands down. Listening to Rocky Top, looking up from the UT section, and seeing the entire upper deck above us and all levels of the 7 or 8 story walkway lined with Tennessee fans waving orange and white shakers was a surreal experience.

Georgia... Nothing better than half a hundred on the top ranked scoring defense. (even though overrated.)

Without question, UGA. A conference game on the road in front of a hostile crowd against a big rival in a must win situation. We spot them a big 17 point first half lead and then blow them away in a rout. Couldn't have been scripted better.

Hands down.....beating them Dawgs. You can talk about beating somebody like Cal for a little bit then it's over but beating UGA at home is something that can be used over and over again for a long long time.

For argument's sake, I'll offer a dissenting opinion... while the impact of the Georgia game is bigger, waiting through that extremely long offseason, nervous and apprehensive about the state of our program, seeing us blast the #9 team in the nation in our season opener was pretty huge.

If we could only have had one though, I'd take the jawja game.

I didn't know what to expect going into the Cal game.

I felt confident that the Vols could beat Georgia.

They were both sweet in their own little way, I couldn't choose between'em on the sweetness factor.

Cal was sweeter because everyone thought we would fold to the "mighty" Golden Bears offense. Lee Corso picked them to win the National Championship. They were never in the game. They still talk about us beating them senseless during the Cal games. The football nation still can't get over how easily we handled them , so why should we?

I say Cal b/c that game showed that we were back and ready to play some ball. The GA game was good, especially after the comeback but Pimp smacking Cal was awesome. PLus i was at the Cal game.

UGA. I live around and work with a lot of UGA fans. My turn to brag for a year! Plus I WAS THERE!

I'm leaning toward the Georgia win, although both games were huge wins for us. Georgia was big because it kept us in the hunt for the SEC East and showed just how far we've come since last year. Cal was a big one too, because nobody knew what to expect from this year's team. I know I had been fuming since walking out of Neyland last year after a lost to Vanderbilt of all people. The Cal game was a pretty much a "in your face" kind of game that proved that the Vols are indeed back.

I'll agree with TENNacious that it was really nice to shut up Corso and his Golden boys.

Both games were sweet in their own way, but with everything riding on the Georgia game in conference, it was bigger.

Gotta go with the SEC with over the Dawgs! What a GAME! Who would have thought there would be 84 points scored in this game? A new UT/UGA record!

They were both really fun games to watch, but I'd have to go with Georgia given the circumstances.

Down 24-7, on the road in one of the most hostile places in the country, playing against the defending sec champions, having to score 17 JUST TO TIE against the #1 ranked defense.

No question its Georgia.

Without beating Cal, UT probably wouldn't have beaten UGA. The Cal game was critical to getting confidence.

I said Georgia, but another point for Cal I will make is the offensive improvement we saw.

We hoped Cut could turn it around, but really didn't know how the offense or ainge would be. Same with Troop and the wr's.

Also the Cal game feels sweeter every week.

Let's hope the Georgia game is similar to that.

so right... without the Cal win we are possibly back in the mental struggle with Ainge, and 0-1 heading into a looong season. The Georgia game is a lot closer to home, and does feel pretty SWEET!
