Calipari gets thrown out!

You can't tell me CBP wouldn't get a standing O in TBA in the exact same situation.

Well I certainly wouldn't - especially if you make as big of an ass of yourself as Cal did in this situation to get thrown out. His team was dominating and still getting all the calls when it happened.

I think he got thrown out on purpose. I don't think he was really as upset as he let on to be.

I know - that's why I wasn't a big fan. He was trying to be "cool". Atleast go out Bob Knight style if you do get thrown out.

The score had nothing to do with the argument. Were you watching the game? The play he was upset about almost had a player paralyzed and the ref didnt blow the whistle for either side. Making an ass out of yourself is when you embarrass the team, or program. The fans actually sided with him...and Rupp isnt the easiest to win over.

Did the player go to the hospital from the court? If not how do you know he "almost" got paralyzed?

I've watched enough football to know that when your head or back gets twisted in the wrong direction, becoming a paraplegic is certainly a fear. No reason to get upset at my post. If the same thing happened at UT...the crowd would have backed the coach for getting upset, too.

Who's upset? I thought we were talking about basketball. Cal is the basketball coach, right?

It's Kentucky basketball - they love their cheat 100X more than we love ours.

hahaa...I knew the cheat word would come up any second. He's a solid coach, a top 4 in the country for college basketball. He also wasnt found guilty for cheating, his players were. Big difference.

And he didn't know anything about what his players were doing, right?

Well, considering Rose was in Chicago taking his SAT and Cal was in Memphis in the middle of the season...no, I dont expect Rose would travel with a private investigator. Is Pearl guilty of having a player caught with a gun and weed?

Wow, that's so ignorant - and terrible comparison by the way.

Ignorant? Do you honestly believe a coach is responsible for everything a recruit does? How can a coach be held accountable when the recruit is 800 miles away in high school? You cant hold his hand everyday. Kids break rules, coaches break rules. The NCAA determines who is guilty and has a very heavy hand when dishing out sanctions. Cal was found completely unassociated with any breaking of the rules.

Whats wrong with the comparison? Pearl had players do much worse (caught with drugs & weapons) in the same town, but he wasnt to blame. But Cal has a recruit, thats not even on the team, cheat on a test in high school halfway across the country and people want him expelled from college. Cal is hated throughout the country, so he's going to have it worse.

Exactly - there wasn't enough proof to link him - he's a good cheater.

Wow....You pick the Rose situation as your defense???
Calimari KNEW what Rose had accomplished as far as academics were concerned....
Calimari KNEW what his previous scores had been.....
Calimari KNEW to get him as far away as possible when taking the test....
And Calimari KNEW the score he achieved in Chicago was totally unrealistic....

The Rose situation was probably the most obvious incident and the most blatant because it is the hardest, factually, to prove..But to say Calimari "didn't know"??? C'mon man...Let's just hope "Judge" is only your nickname...........

Wow, thats a lot of info. Are you on the team, are you an assistant coach? Your accusations are awfully exact to know precisely what Cal knew. Its very easy for people to sit back and assume different theories purely out of dislike for the guy. I mean, if a rival fan on a chat forum knows exactly how Cal cheated, you'd think the NCAA would have more information than we do.

When your a head coach and you have 30 different high school athletes that you're trying to learn about and one specific recruit cheats on a high school test 800 miles away in the middle of a season, whos to blame? The man that should know everything? I hate to bust your bubble, but a VERY large amount of the kids in the SEC are not stand out students. Most of them cant even write paper...much less have an A or B average. Every coach does the same thing. If a kids grades are questionable, they notify the family on what the requirements are to qualify to play for that program. I find in ridiculous that people think Cal said "you need to cheat on your tests so that you can play at memphis". Especially when nothing is on the line and he could have just about anyone in the country at his program. A coach cant instruct a high school kid to cheat without that coming out. Kids cant keep secrets...hence the way Rose got caught.

Believe it or not, kids cheat on tests without being asked to. I think I cheated on every calculus test my senior year in high school just so I could remain eligible for my high school team, and nobody was asking me to. Craziness I tell you:)

The jump Rose made in scores was dramatic...Defend it however you like, it was so much of a jump that it FINALLY brought the attention of the NCAA ( who BTW have literally HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of recruits they keep up with). And with such a high profile program, Most of the "blue" msg boards "knew" what I pointed out...So no, I'm not in any way involved with the Kensucky program, just pointing out the obvious from your own fanbase...But despite you trying to change the point (typical with Kensucky fans), the Rose situation is STILL not the best defense when Defending Calimari over cheating..Just leave it where it is...It was a violation that was exposed

BTW, curious about YOUR claim to have knowledge of what "every coach does"...Are you part of "every" program in the country??
