Calipari showing some love

Cal's team has a one seed, what incentive does he have for making the conference look better? If they were floating between an 1 and a 2 then I can maybe see your point but they may end up being the number 1 overall and even if they’re not there is no way they slip to a number 2. In either case it doesn’t do anything but help UT’s anemic NCAA tourney chances now so why trash the guy? He’s the coach of a rival team and he’s the one driving the conversation about you getting a bid…If it were me I would be quietly appreciative.

He is thinking, that if UK meets the VOLS in the championship game,UT could beat his team!!!!

I don't care who says it as long as it's a positive for Tennessee. Been a long time since a Tennessee sport is in the news for their performance without something negative overshadowing it. Thanks Cal.

He'll start to hate us when we can beat him...next year's goals should include winning the SEC (reg season and tourney) and winning the NCAA tourney. Still pumped about this weekend and this team, but it's tough not to look forward to next season.

Guys... I think we are forgetting that most of the bad blood came from the bitter recruiting rivalry that took place in the city of Memphis.

I think Cal could care less who CCM pulls from Memphis now. So maybe he doesn't hate UT like he use to, until we make UT/UK a real rivalry by winning, he really has no reason to.

You can bet your arse he cares who CCM pulls from Memphis. It is one of the hotbeds for college recruiting and I will just about bet Cal will be going after at least one of those kids almost every year. Heck he may be actively pursuing three for next years class! Take it from me, we are becoming a factor sooner than later there as well.

...he doesn’t know our recent schedule...give me a break.

What break?

It doesn't offend me to know that Cal doesn't follow our box scores every week. He has his own team to worry about. But, he was acting like he knew what he was talking about to the point of discussing specific games. My point is that he knows zero about our last month of play, other than the bottom line, so his opinion means little to nothing.

I'm not one to say, "Ooh, Cal says we belong in the tourney. Wow."

He said it the first time, because he nearly lost to a team with a losing record. I suppose we all heard it from the great one first.

I would rather cal hate us.....who cares what he has to say ....good or bad.....the Tennessee fans getting their panties wet bc cal said something good about us makes me laugh.

This situation seems similar to when ESPN reporters say something good about UT. Everyone loves them, but when they say something bad, everyones hates them.

I can't help but to feel that Calipari really hated Bruce Pearl and now that he's gone, he is more willing to talk up UT.

I agree 1,000%. I am glad we have coach Martin here now. The guy can coach. The team he took over did play last year but not alot of playing time. Pull in the recruits coach Martin. Hope we get some more kids out of the Memphis area. Need a couple shooters and a point guard.

Listening to the podcast...sounded like he suggested some people will not vote for Davis for POY either because he plays for KY or because he plays for Cal.

I'm sorry; I really dislike this guy and wish he was not in CBB at all.

This. He's such a slime ball.. I think it's unbelievable that parents buy into his crap and give their kids the ok to play for him.

I'd play at any team coached by Cal. He has a long history of NBA players. Not to mention now you get to play at the best program in basketball history.

Cal said something nice. Better than bashing UT.
