I'm guessing it was a nickname thought up by bammers. Since auburn didn't have any wheels on the structures on their campus they went with barn?

Because Bear Bryant used to refer to Auburn as a "cow college", plus it's in a very rural area.

Actually I believe it's because a barn is the first thing you see when you enter the campus area. Very agri-related school. Lots of Aubies live in the Atl area and some of them can be quite obnoxious at times. I know we all have them. A few of my best friends are AU grads and they're cool. But some others.............

I know I had posted earlier that it did not matter to me if UT or Auburn wins, but as the game gets closer, I find myselft wanting you guys to completely expose/embarrass the barn for what they are. An overrated flash in the pan with a decent high school coach calling the shots. Auburn plays and has alway played very dirty and y'all need need put them in their place.

I used to go to some Vanderbilt games, due to a good friend who had season tickets, this was early 80's, when they were pretty good...Whit Taylor and that bunch. crowd was always a bunch of stuffed shirt A-holes, condescending jack-asses.

Then I went to work for some Vandy People...yech.

Back on topic, if the UT DL can stand up, this could be a very fun game to watch.
