Calm down, TN has the talent to win most remaining games.

7-5 would mean we don't fix anything and a huge step backwards. 8-4 is realistic, but still would mean the OL never gelled and the O never overcame their ineptness.

If this team gets a lot better in a hurry, I still think they can win 9 games.
Our identity on offense is inconsistency combined with penalties. We can run the ball but that is overshadowed with mistakes. This team never really had the capability to match last seasons offensive production or even come close. IF the offense can clean up procedure penalties along with OL miscues, and better QB play, then we may have a chance to salvage this year. Coaches have to step it up a notch as well. Luckily, the season is still young with time to improve.

Yes, on paper, we have the talent to win most of our remaining games...actually the only game left we are outmatched in the talent department is UGA...on paper.
The glaring reality is though, and I've said this since spring camp, is that Heupel knows Milton is a step down from Hooker and Nico just isn't ready to go yet.
Add that to the O Line issues with injuries and such and I just can't see this squad being any better than 8-4.

I would like to see the team play cleaner as a whole. Stop missing tackles on D and stop making stupid mental mistakes that result in penalties on O. Fix those two issues and then lets see where they are.

With a little better D, they dont need to score 49 ppg.

I heard VQ say Heup is ofer when they dont score more than 30 points. The way the game played out last week you didnt need 30 to win if you dont miss tackles and could actually finish drives

Yes, they didn't play good against Florida but that's only one game. When they are on, they can beat anyone. The QB and protection will improve, and they will finish at least 7-5 or 8-4 this year. Ok, I'll admit it: I'm never wrong lol.
7-5 or 8-4 with Nico, I can swallow that pill. But going 7-5 with Milton and making freshman mistakes still, that one will be hard to swallow.

Hate to break it to you but we haven’t played well in any of our 3 games.

30 or more….We scored 30 against AP and won.

Exactly what we don't want. We lose another SEC game (2 for sure) basketball time and football might as well start focusing on 2024.

The coaches are going to have to earn their pay to make this a good season. When the talent is not there, you have to do it with scheme and coaching. Milton has struggled every year of colege football. I am not sure if he needs to sit and give Nico the start or what the answer is. But I do know the coaches have to make serious adjustments if there is to be hope for this season and build for next. Recruits will either see that coaches make changes for the team to win or they will see coaches that would rather keep the status quo. I hate to even mention the coach of the red team, but he has never seemed to shy away from sitting the starting QB. It does seem that Milton just does not have the ability to run the offense the way Hooker did. So they either have to change the offense to suit him or change the QB. The o-line is a different story. Those guys have to perform regardless of who is lined up behind them.

7-5, 11-2, 7-5 or 8-4 is a huge improvement over the crap show of the last 10 years prior

They have the talent to win them all. They have to play much better than they did at UF.

We have major issues on the OL. We also have a quarterback that has a very slim margin of error because he has trouble going thru his progressions quickly and he is prone to be inaccurate if there is any hint of pressure. Barring a coaching miracle, we will lose three or four more games because we simply don't have the talent to overcome these deficiencies. The OL cannot be fixed in a year or two so fans need to check themselves for a bumpy ride for the next couple of seasons. Help is on the way if Heupel can keep the train from running completely off the tracks in the meantime.

Also, jury is still out on some of the defensive coaches. We also need to recruit better on the interior of the DL.

So you’re telling us to calm down, we will only lose 3-4 more games even though we have the talent to beat anyone “when they are on”.
So you’re saying we”ll off 3-4 games,
well thanks, I’m calm now. Great post

I'm not as sold on the talent level. It's going to take a helluva coaching job to get this roster to 8 wins. I think 7 is most likely, but wouldn't be shocked if injuries continue to mount and we end up with 6 wins. That would be a bitter, bitter pill after last season, but when you consider the talent and leadership we lost, I guess it's shouldn't be such a surprise.

Every team on our schedule has demonstrated pretty significant flaws. I expect UGA and Bama to get better but we will too. So far in CJH’s previous two years both teams got better as the year went along. This team has room to bounce back in a big way.
