win the Heisman. The voters and the Heisman committee have been keeping up with this story as much as we have and I doubt very seriously that anyone wants to touch this kid right now. If I were a voter I would not give him a first place vote, bias aside. There is little question that he is the best QB in the nation right now and is playing at a different level than everyone else but there is just no way that the voters will vote for him given the accusations circling him right now. He'll be in New York but that will be about it.

Ok because you said so.

Even though various Heisman voters said they WILL vote him if Auburn continues to play him.

But according to you, these guys are not being honest.

No need to be hostile, it's just my opinion. Some voters will vote for him but I believe the majority are going to steer clear of this. I mean the kid should win the Heisman but do you really think that the trustees want another black eye after the Bush fiasco? Don't be surprised if they are running a silent campaign against Newton. Am I right? Maybe. Does the kid deserve it? Sure. Should he get it in light of all this controversy? I say no and maybe I'm in the minority. I just can't fathom why with even the mere idea that this kid might be ruled ineligible that voters would give him the most prestigious award in college football.

Also, this scandal has far reaching effects not just on Auburn but on the sport as a whole. The Heisman is a symbol of college football and right now college football is taking a lot of hits; Bush scandal early this year, the agent debacle involving USCe, UNC and UF. Right now the last thing the sport needs is to reward another dirty player and I believe voters are going to be mindful of that when they fill out their ballots.

Maybe they'll take out that word "integrity".

That'll allow him to win.

If they leave it in..... he's out.

Actually, I got to agree with him. Maybe a good bit still vote for him, but I would doubt that even half that would have a month ago would today if the vote was today. Dude has screwed himself in a major way. He might not even be drafted till the 2nd round now.

Burn Auburn burn!!!

Cheating azz Ho's!!!

How exactly has he screwed himself? Whatever comes out of this, it will in no way affect his draft status

Maybe still to some, but it has lost a lot of its prestige in many peoples minds. If they give it to Cam(which they may still do), it will just sully its reputation that much more. As far as the draft status, the NFL doesnt give a rats rectum about any of this crap. He is still a great athlete and football player regardless of how slimy he and/or his dad is.

If this happens the Hiesman will be even more of a joke than it was when Peyton got snubbed.

If he has not been declared inelligable by the time voates have to be in then he is by far the best college player in the land.

Unless the NCAA rules cam ineligible, he will probably win. Most of they heisman voters are reporters who would sell out there own mothers to get ahead. Most of them sympathize with cam because they do the same thing everyday. Ive heard a bunch of them say they think college athletes should be paid. Unless the NCAA moves on cam, the heisman is his.

What the hell does this have to do with voting for the best player in college football who hasnt been proven to have done a single thing to make himself ineligible. How is it fair to be the best but lose the award because of rumor and speculation, which is exactly what all of this is until they prove it.

Cecil has admitted to soliciting money for Cam, which makes Cam ineligible. Heisman rules clearly state that a player must abide by eligibility guidelines of the NCAA. Simple as that.

I don't think accusations will affect the majority of the voters. But, hopefully, the investigations turn up some hard evidence before the vote.

Maybe that INTEGRITY statement.

Take your pick:

*Stealing or having a stolen laptop
*Cheating in School
*Soliciting Payment

OK.... if only 33% is true, he should be out.

I have heard different interpretations of the rule as far as solicitations. If it was as clear cut as you suggest, wouldnt the AA come out and deem Cam ineligible?

There is no question that it is a rule violation. The only question is to whether or not $cam knew about the solicitation. The ncaa could be lenient if they don't believe he knew, but even that doesn't look likely as a recruiter for msu has already said that the $cam told him "the money was too much" for him not to go to Auburn. The ncaa has already notified Auburn about questions involving his eligibility before the Georgia came.

if there was a viable alternative he wouldn't win, but who else is out there?

Well that's the thing, the only real option besides Newton is Kellen Moore and the only thing hurting him is the conf. he plays in. Outside of that a case can be made for AJ Green, Julio Jones and Ryan Mallet (who could become a much stronger candidate if this Newton things gets legs soon).

I'd already call this Newton thing a Centipede.....except faster.
