Can Brian Williams grab the rim?

Now would he actually make the dunk...that's a different story. I'd say there'd be a good chance he wouldn't. Plus it wouldn't matter, the minute he got the ball he'd take the ball down low and totally take away any advantage he had keeping it high.

in college basketball has so little understanding of offensive fundamentals in the paint. You can score a lot of points down in the block just by catching the ball high, pivoting and shooting off glass--or fake one way, then pivot the other and shoot. Basic, easy fundamental moves of a type that Kareem Abdul Jabber (sp) was adept at executing. Thabeet, the 7'3 Uconn center, could score all day just by holding the ball high, turning and shooting--and yet he can't or won't. I saw him try to dribble in the paint a game or two ago--and (surprise!) he lost the ball. These bigs try to move around, fake, dribble, waste time...it's stupid. If you have a decent touch, know how to use your body to keep the defender from getting up close on you, scoring in the paint can be pretty easy. I think Williams has potential--but he was TERRIBLE against. ok. state on both ends of the court.
