Can I Get Every Alleged Tennessee Fan...

Their 4-0 record is pure voodoo. Vandy is dead last in the SEC in both total offense and defense.
They are a respectable (for them) 7th in scoring offense and scoring defense and they lead the leauge in takaways and field goals. Not to mention they are deadly in the red zone on both sides of the ball so far. You don't have to have huge offensive production when you score a lot off of turnovers.

I hate vandy... if they are good at anything (basketball, baseball) all of there 25 fans come out of the wood work and run their mouth. I have almost got the point I am 4 kentucky in bball over vandy... I hope auburn beats them... cut comes into nashville and wins, and they lose every other game and end 4-8 just like vandy should.. Im sorry I live a hour away from nashville and the 1 year they beat us in football it was terrible... Go vols get on a hot streak 4 the sake of the sec so I can quit hearing these crazy vandy fans saying they can win the sec east... at best this year they go 7-5...

I support Vandy when their not playing us.It's hard not to living in the Nashville area.

That is the exact opposite of the truth. I grew up in Nashville, and it made me hate Vandy that much more. Being around your average Vandy fan is enough to make you hope they never win another game.

Vandy is representing their conference well, and the better Vandy's record, the better it is for Tenn when we beat them later in the year.

I agree they are representing the SEC much better than us at this point. That is good for them, but not for UT.:eek:k:

How could you not like Vandy? When Biff and Muffy sit in the Volvo and get liquored up from sipping their white zinfandel before the game, they become very passionate fans.

A good summation of the voodoo I mentioned. Counting on turnovers to salvage games is great...until other teams stop handing you the ball and you gotta earn the yardage, not to mention counting on giving up a bunch of yards only to have the other team cough up the ball and kill their own scoring drives.

They aren't a total crap team, it's simply impossible to rank dead last in your conference in the two macro measurements of ball movement and not be winning without the aid of some fairy dust.

Being a Vandy grad, I should tell you that there aren't any real Vandy fans. There are only students, who don't really care about sports but like the image of acting as silly as Duke, and old men around Nashville who didn't really go to Vandy but wear tweed jackets and once taught a night class on English as a foreign language at the Y so are now part of academia and simply hate anything to do with public education or athletic success because in 1974 that football player at Hillwood dated the cheerleader he had a crush on and then threatened to kick his ass if he didn't stop calling her and hanging up.

Biff really isn't that bad of a guy once you get to know him; Muffy is kind of a slut.

That might be the best post ever about Vandy.

IMO UTK needs to be more worried about MTSU than Vandy. The sleeping giant that is Little Middle is starting to stir. Beating Bowl Subdivision teams and getting ESPN to come to that hay loft in Mufreesboro. Wait a couple of years until MTSU claws their way into some variant Conference USA and they are regularly playing against schools with recognizable names. Maybe an annual cross state rivalry game with Memphis? They already have the state's largest undergraduate population and a huge alumni base. Give them a product to cheer for and I'm sure you will find alot of people who are happier to make a short drive to the Boro instead of the trek to K-town, especially if the Vols are down. Another point is that unlike Alabama, where the AL trustees have been able to retard the growth of UAB in order to protect the flagship, MTSU is a Board of Regents school which means the UT BOT has no say in anything MTSU does.
The MTSU victory last night made for an all-nighter frat party (per my son). My dad (huge UT fan and former student) would roll over in his grave if I said dare say anything positive about Vandy. Years ago he worked for a corporation, owned by a rich man and family, who sent his son to Vandy. Needless to say, the Vandy grad rammed the Vandy team down my dads throat . So I'll never like them, never! Not even mentioning my Michigan inlaws that like them just in spite of the Vols.Michigan stinks as well IMO.

who thinks Vanderbilt's early season success is a good thing to post in this thread. It will allow me to put you on ignore en masse? Thanks for your cooperation.

I think people generally find it harder to hate Vandy in football than in basketball, because they've never been viewed as a threat, but the last thing we need is for this rivalry to get like it was in the early 1920s before Neyland was hired. Better to nip the problem in the bud.

Yeah, you're the guy who showed up here blathering about the greatness of the Hornets, then ran cowardly away in the hopes that everyone would forget. We haven't. Everyone knows how meaningless your opinions are. Welcome to Ignoreland. You'll fit right in with the other residents.

Hey! Dont lump me and this dude together!

since Bama is not on the schedule.

You can put me on ignore because I always root for Vandy except when they play us. And yes, Vandy is on the rise with their 4-0 record. Unless Vandy chokes, they will beat Auburn because Vandy won't fumble in their own endzone. There is something to be said for recruiting intelligent players and hiring smart coaches.
