Can our defense take advantage of Beck?

Rumors from some UGa long time friends are saying Beck is playing bad "kind of on purpose" to decrease his draft stock so he doesn't go to a terrible team.

Not sure how accurate it is or if it just those two guys making excuses for how bad he is playing.

lol. They are FOS. Hes literally losing money by doing that if that’s the case.

Too much discussion of QB
They ALL look good when the OL Blocks......and the DL puts the opponent on their Backs.....

Nothing has changed..................games won and loss in the Pitts............
Put this in another thread. Georgia and Beck have major issues with their offensive line and in particular with the LT, #71. Don’t know if he was a starter or a backup but It looked like a jailbreak on every pass when the Ole Miss DE’s took off. #71 simply couldn’t stay in front of them and Beck was getting backside pressure nearly every pass play. I noticed they finally took him out but the next guy didn’t do any better either. I think Joseph and Pierce are going to feast.

He was smiling on the sideline down 25-10..

So? I don’t get into athletes smiling or laughing a bit during a game when you’re down on the scoreboard. It’s naive to think they should walk around scowling or yelling at teammates. They are people who need a moment of levity during stressful times. It’s why people smile and laugh at moments during funerals

If defenses put pressure on on him, he has been throwing the ball to the defense. We need to win the turnover game.

If true that is profoundly dumb of him. I think the reality is he lost the receivers who bailed him out last year and he’s not a very good quarterback.

I doubt it, I don't see that genre of music being helpful for motivation or anything. AC/DC may be better.

That's why I stunk too. I didn't want the busy schedule that came with playing varsity so I stunk on purpose.

I don't believe that is what he is doing but I would much rather be in Hendon Hookers situation than go to the Browns and get creamed every game until you end up being Bryce Young

I understand the logic of it, but that's a risky thing to do. One could play themselves out of even the third round and cost a TON of money up front.

Beck has personal demons. Unless he visits the Pope for confession, he's toast against us. Sacred Mother Mary, bless my Vols.

So rumor has it that Beck hates money? Most laughable rumor I ever heard.

Who is in better situation. Hendon or Anthony Richardson? Yeah AR got more upfront $ but his career is all but over while Hendon will get paid over a much larger time frame.

Beck is having a bad year for sure. 12 interceptions this season. All in the last 7 games so he is on a bender. Tennessee's pass defense is 3rd in the SEC and with Boo Carter's INT last night now is tied (with multiple other schools) for the second most INT's this season in the SEC. While we all know it will be hard to beat Georgia in Athens I think this could be a game changer as we know our defensive line can contain running backs. Our d-line does struggle against running QBs, as we saw last night, but Beck is not a runner. Honestly, I think if I were Georgia I would replace Beck with a runner or just run the Wildcat all night.
They have a very capable #2 that is a runner and passer. He passed for over 13K yards in HS and ran for over 4K. And he has done pretty well in mop up duties for them. Prob should have been his team this year, but Kirby wasn't gonna slight Beck. He did earn it after last year. But he never got that Milroe style benching to get his head right. Genius move on Saban's part at the time.

Yeah, and if that had legs, Kirby would have sent him packing and moved on to Stockton. Kirby's ego would never allow any one player's self-interest be higher than the team.

And no QB is gonna tank himself out of draft stock and risk being off the board entirely.
