Can someone give me a quick rundown of our recruiting?

Is this really the state of our program? when is the last time "we" got this excited over landing a possible 3-4* recruit like posey? dont get me wrong, i too was stoked when i learned the news of his commitment. i just can't remember another time, in my life as a fan (which spans about 25 years) that i was so excited about a guy of this caliber committing. i just think it speaks volumes about the condition of our program.

he's a solid offensive lineman (which we desperately need). It says nothing about the state of our program that people are excited to see him commit. Drama queen fans are getting ridiculous

i understand and agree he is a solid offensive lineman, and i also understand our great need in that position. which actually solidifies my statement. if we werent in the condition we are in, we wouldnt have such a gaping hole in the center of our offense........our line. this is the very reason we are all so excited, not really because of his skills, but because of our needs.....its not good, my man...im not losing hope or going off the deep end. im just saying we have really slipped in the past 10 years....

Welcome to the boards, Captian Obvious :)

All teams go through ups and downs, that's how it works. We went down and are heading back up, going to take another couple years until we're compteting for championships again due to lack of depth and all the coaching changes, but Dooley and staff are doing good things on the recruiting trail and we should have a 3rd top 10 class in a row come next february jmo

yes buddy your right its quiet obvious to everyone. i just made a statemen. about the condition of our program. i guess i still blame fulmer for the lack of talent, but the coaching changes havent helped whatsoever. i hope your also right about this class. :zeitung_lesen:

The only thing I am worried about is DT at the moment, I dont know if that is just because I dont see a lot posted on here or if I need to check to see what we are doing with DT's on other sites. It would be nice if some of the more knowledgeable people on here would start a thread about where we stand on the D-line. Everything else looks good atm.

Does anyone know how many players we can take in 2010/11 Class ? I always here many different #s when it comes to our official recruiting #.

Our recruiting class should end up looking something like this

QB-2
RB-2
WR-2
TE-2
OL-5
DT-4
DE-2
LB-3
DB-3
ATH-3

A total of 28 players

And I think we will finish with a top 12 class but as long as we fill our needs with good players at their positions we will be fine.

I am one that does see a positive correlation between star rankings/class rankings and how teams perform on the field.

However, if there is one position that consistently churns out great players that arent rated highly its the OL. Its hard to project how well these guys will play in college.
