I always have my cup ready as a Vol fan and am usually a nervous wreck.

Just have a bad feeling about this matchup.

Ummm, sorry but is that "cup" as in athletic supporter or, cup o' Jack you got ready??

It’s terribly tough to win it all in any sport. Some say basketball is harder (one loss and you are out). Some say baseball because of the way the sport is structured - a couple of bad starts for your starters . . . And you are most likely out of it.

ND is good. We are better on paper.

What a great season even if we don’t win it all.

But not making it to Omaha will be a major underachievement for a team with this much across the board talent. If they don’t get past ND the criticism will be substantial.

I'm a little nervous too. We struggled more than we should have (defense and pitching) last weekend. Hopefully they will be focused and ready to dominate ND.

I agree. For some reason people tend to think of Arkansas as the CWS King and IIRC they've only even PLAYED ONE time in the championship game. They could win it this year...but for my money LSU is the only SEC team that can brag about gaudy stats for the title. Of course there's other SEC teams who've won a title or two but LSU has won like maybe 6 since the 90's. That's a dominant program and hopefully TV will give us a few chances to win over the next several years.

Actually we’ve played twice in the championship game with the other happening in 78 or 79 against Cal St Fullerton. Still, the point remains we’ve had lots of heartache.

We've had a lot of fun with your post, though I'll bet most of us do or have felt similarly about this next series.

The real response to that anxiety is to remind ourselves that our individual identity is not who we cheer for, or whose colors we wear. Remind yourself who you are, and what your values are.

What a bunch of (admirable, loveable) twenty year olds with aluminum bats do on a weekend has nothing to do with who you are, unless you give away control of your identity. It's never smart to give control of how you feel to people you don't know or circumstances you don't control.

Is there any other reason for becoming a fan than to have fun? So have fun this weekend!
