Spurrier's in the drivers seat if you think about it in the East. He pretty much has the upper hand against Saban if they meet in Atlanta. Thoughts..... Can Spurrier pull it off this year?

In my opinion there is just something missing from that team. I have not been impressed with them and I certainly don't think they are good enough to win the SEC. Never been too impressed with Shaw either.

This all depends on how Matty Mauk performs for Mizzou. I wouldn't count them out.

This team in a way is kind of like '09 Bama and '98 UT... Not expected to win it, but talented enough to do so

Clowney hasn't been much of a factor & the rest of their D isn't very good. Offense is pretty much run Shaw on a busted play or run Mike Davis who is a pretty good back. Shaw is always a slide or a hit away from leaving the game. Their receivers as a group are probably worse than what we have. It's sad if USCjr is the best the east has to offer.

I'm not scared with Mauk behind center. They do have their O line back. He is unproven yes but he is a gamer

Spurrier is an old fart who needs a lifetime supply of headsets IMO.

Shaw>Worley by a long shot.

3-1 against him. If Mark Ingram doesn't run the wildcat direct snap to perfection in '09, then Saban loses that one. Spurrier owns him.

Then Bama will simply bring Mike Dubose back to coach that game, since a small sample size with no regard to the situations surrounding the games proves that Dubose owns Spurrier.

You have to admit that Spurrier is somewhat of a nightmare for a guy like Saban. It is hard to prepare for a guy that seems to literally pull his strategy out of his ass at game time and spends the rest of his time playing golf and drinking. Talent gives Alabama the edge in every game they play, but unpredictability is a good weapon to have.

What, exactly, is unpredictable about Spurrier's gameplan? He's run pretty much the same system for years.

Clowney is a factor when a majority of teams have played two - sometimes three against him. When Clowney brings his A-game, he's very much a factor. As for Shaw, very mobile, and you know what mobile QB's do to our D. Shaw, IMO, is one of the better QB's in the SEC. I would rank him over McCarron simply because he has a better deep ball and much better wheels.

How exactly is Spurrier in the driver's seat? USC lost to UGA. UGA holds the tiebreaker.

And UGA only has UF left to play, really. USC has to get through UF, Mizzou and UT if you consider us a scary opponent at home.

UGA still has the East on lockdown after the injury to Franklin.
