Can Tennessee afford to look past LSU?

I heard CBP say on the sports animal the other morning that Maze had played 3 games in 6 days and he was just exhausted and couldn't go anymore, so I'm thinking then how is he supposed to play 4 games in 4 days if it were to come down to that.

Let me take a contrarian view point here. This might be crazy, but is it possible that this team would be better off overlooknig LSU and focusing only on Ole Miss and Kentucky? All in the name of avoiding a 1 seed before the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament, it could be SEC Championship game or bust. And the difference between either a 3 seed or a 6 seed. If we lose to LSU and end up being a 6 seed, we wouldn't be on the same side as the 1 seed. Granted we would likely have to play a 2 and a 3 seed, but is it possible that is the better path to the elite 8 rather than having to play a 1 seed in the Sweet 16? It's kind of like, pick your poison. Not saying this is preferable. I would hope that we can cruise past LSU and be rested for Ole Miss. And be prepared for UK. But if we were to lose, I'm not sure it would be as devastating as it would seem. Of course, the best case scenario is to win the SEC Championship and lock up a 3 seed. That way we stay on the other side of the 1 and have a much easier path to the Elite 8

Yes, I've also heard that it's better for us to be a 3 or 6 seed rather than a 4 or 5. Not really sure why but I think it's because of what you are saying here.

I don't expect them to over look anyone at this point in the year but losing focus during the SEC tourny is much better than losing focus in the NCAA tourny. This is when you want to be playing your best basketball. Tennessee's best will beat LSU by 15+, Tennessee's average will still win by 5+.

Mitchell can hurt a team and given any help, like Spencer hitting some rediculous 3s{which he has done b4}and the chance to beat a team like UT in the SECT...LSU can be dangerous....UT wins the game.but 4 games in 4 days,I hope we're ready for everyone.

I think we'll win, but it won't be as impressive as we're hoping it to be.

I'll say Tennessee 79, LSU 70.
