Which is fine, more power to him for that. However, looks pretty silly if he indeed only has a GED. Especially since he's not played any higher than A ball in 4 seasons. Most players that make it to the bigs move up faster than that.
He got a good signing bonus that is also paying for his college education. If he goes back and completes that the GED is irrelevant. You could argue that him having 3 years of college was a choice with education in mind over just 2 if he had stayed in HS. He is much closer to graduating than he would have been anyway.
