Can We Offer Pat Adams an NIL Deal to Never Officiate a Vol Game Again

This is not confined to basketball or football alone or even to the SEC, but with the billions of dollars flowing thru the universities and the NCAA they would do the sports far more good in developing full time professional referees that would be highly paid, and highly trained and highly reviewed and responsible entities. It would cut into their profits, so you therefore have enforcement committees that concern themselves with barbecues and jet travel rather than a move that would be beneficial to the fans’ enjoyment of the game.
Easier said than done and the SEC knows this.

We literally stunk it up last night. I watched a 6’ 5” player out rebound our entire team on offensive rebounds. This was 100% on us.

JJJ was out hustled by Anderson on the glass Saturday night.

I think Anderson set a record for most rebounds by an opposing player against Tennessee with those 17 rebounds.

Pat Adams intentionally stands in front of our rebounders throughout the game. That's also
why JJJ and SV bricks their shots, not to mention causing Aidoo to lose his grip on the rebounds!

We would be undefeated if the referees were not in a conspiracy to keep us from a low seed.

Da_ _ refs! every game!

Just thinking about the mindset of someone who sees a thread with a title indicating that it's about the refereeing, in the middle of a bunch of threads that already talk about player performance, and thinking, "oh yes, I need to come in here and make this about what is important to ME! MY opinion is the most important! ME! ME! ME!"

I acknowledge the existence of both you and your point of view, despite this topic being oriented around anything else. You are seen! You are not alone. You do not need to search any longer for recognition of your unique and totally relevant point of view!

This game was lost in the first 4 minutes of the game, TAM was ready to play for some reason we wasns't and that alarming.
“Alarming” seems a bit dramatic for a team that would be a 2 or 3 seed if the tourney started today. We had a shít game. We’ll be fine. We’re at least a sweet 16 team, and with a good draw we’re finally four capable.

You come across as illiterate when you to respond this way after the OP states, “I’m not blaming him for the loss…”

Pat Adams is the referee we are trained "NOT" to be when becoming officials. I refereed/umpired for many years. He could be used in training films on what NOT to do . Shameful. Probably Stankey's go to guy to screw UT in basketball, like he did in football. Rumor down here in alabama is he isn't very happy to UT right now in regards to the law suit. He thinks we are ruining the plan commissioners have. Maybe he should have spoke out about our situation, not remain silent.

Adams certainly seems to referee a lot of Tennessee games every season.
In conference games, Vols have had Adam’s twice. Home vs. Carolina and at A@M. We lost both games if that means anything. Saturday night we got outplayed, flush it and move to the next one. They shot well, we didn’t. We will be ready for them when they return to Knoxville. I personally think Adam’s is better than Doug Shows but neither are my favorite. We seem to play really well when we have Don Daily. We are 3-0 with him. Home vs. Ole Miss, Home vs. Florida and at Vandy. Maybe we will get him a couple more games. I like Terry Oglesby too.

He's certainly a great rebounder but I zoned in on him some while he was working to get position, he has got it down to an art he knows when the refs are watching play away from him pushes/shoves off a lot but he's very good at it. One time he body slammed Vescovi, and the ref saw it not sure if he thought SV was faking or what. He knows how to navigate the rebounding waters in regards what he can get away with, no doubt.

It's just that "fans" like you are always quick to blame the refs for all things that go wrong.

Shows how really unknowing you are when it comes to basketball. Even after replays show
the refs are correct 90% of the time.

Can you point me to where I blamed the refs for our loss? We played poorly and deserved to lose. Also, pat sucks. It’s not a mutually exclusive thing.

Lol at the “unknowing” comment. I’ve forgotten more about basketball than you’ll ever know.

I know at least one person in real life who is like this: a bigger fan of the refs than the game. It's going to be awesome when we automate the refs out of existence. It'll be frustrating for a bit as we adjust the rules to account for eerily consistent calls, but we won't have to worry about some folks trying to bring "the human element" to a game that already has 10 humans on the court.

It's literally our job as *fanatics* of this team to express frustration when we feel our players are treated unfairly. You add nothing by trying to change the subject in a thread made *for the record purpose* of expressing that frustration. Have something else to say? You can make your own thread.

The most annoying part of watching the way our games are officiated is that there seems to be two separate standards:

The other team is allowed to do illegal things like hand check, hold on to our guys, and even push off when they're on offense.

We never hand check on defense and don't hold but when they drive and force contact, they get the call even if it isn't a foul.

It takes our players out of rhythm. Last night they overcame it, but against lesser opponents I've witnessed it give our guys the thousand yard stare and they start playing in a shell while the other team goes hyper aggressive. It's what happened against Texas A&M, Mississippi State, and South Carolina.

None of those teams are legit contenders in the NCAA tournament. I don't know why we don't get the prestige whistle of being the obvious standard bearer for the SEC. Even if you gave us OBJECTIVE officiating and didn't allow teams to get hyper aggressive against us---I think we're undefeated in SEC play. That momentum translates into uncharacteristic shooting for the opponent.

My sources are telling me that Lens Crafters and Pat Adams are very close to terms on a very lucrative NIL deal. Expect to have it all ironed out by middle of March. I’ll update you as my source gives me more info.

Two of my best friends are an Arkansas fan and an Auburn fan. Funny enough, they both say the same thing about Pat. It seems universal that everyone hates him.

My biggest complaint with Pat is not that he makes bad calls, it’s that he tends to control the game with calls rather than let the two teams control the tempo

I’m not sure anyone said he causes all our loses. What has been said is he is a terrible ref. Not only does he make bad calls he makes it all about himself. He is on air more than any ref in the SEC.
